Breakfast Topic: The feral bond {WoW}

Jul 21st 2010 10:07AM If hunters have a bond, I would describe it as sibling rivalry. The hunter community is great and for hunter mains, there's always a certain concern and care given to fellow hunters, BUT that doesn't stop me from messing with baby allies a little bit or plenty of "friendly competition" in raids. It's a rough love. :-)

Scattered Shots: Pure awesome {WoW}

May 24th 2010 1:45PM These pep rallies are exactly what I need to remind me why I play a Hunter. (As if the good-looking Guy in my mirror isn't enough.) Moar plz.

Hey Mike, it's just what you wanted!!!

Patch 3.3 PTR: Target marking, the end of lowbie raids, and other UI tweaks {WoW}

Oct 15th 2009 2:55PM I don't necessarily disagree with the lowbie raids change. If you're taking player-run events as a con, you have to take...

% people who participate in player-run events
x % of those who want to see health bars, etc
x % of those who want to see 25 rather than 5 health bars, etc
x % of those who aren't already lvl 10+ on that server
x % of those who can't/don't want to spend a couple hours getting to lvl 10
x % of any variable I haven't thought of

THEN compare *that* effect to whatever negative effect lowbie gold-spammers have on raids (which I have absolutely no way to judge--I don't even understand how it's a problem...), and there's the decision.

Doesn't affect me, however, at all. I'm in that first % who doesn't do player-run events...

Breakfast Topic: Would you play a neutral character? {WoW}

Aug 20th 2009 9:03AM That all sounds blissfully entertaining, but sadly, the one thing that I don't think motivates Blizzard is wanting MORE players. Most of the changes they're making are part of a retention strategy--trying to keep the players they already have. That's really all they need at this point. Maybe in WoW2?

Breakfast Topic: Would you play a neutral character? {WoW}

Aug 20th 2009 9:00AM Funny it's brought up--I was just thinking back to SWG and how I rather missed an MMO that isn't strictly about fighting like WoW is. While the way WoW works does make for great fun, it's really lacking on the social aspect of the MMO genre (so to speak). Back in "the glory days" of SWG, I remember some of my favorite times weren't combat-related (as the combat system was rather Meh), but just chilling in a cantina watching player dancers/singers or around a scout's campfire while exploring. Won't ever probably see that in WoW. Doesn't look like ToR is headed that direction either. Oh well...
