Sep 30th 2010 9:36AM Still waiting on my bard!!! :)
Sep 10th 2010 11:35AM I really don't care either way, as there is plenty of time to save between now and Cata, but I do have a question on the progression/already owning a 310 mount.
I have epic on 3/4 80's, and will probably end up with 2 more by the time Cata drops. I do not plan on buying epic flying for them, but I had thought about running one of them through all the Ulduar achieves for the 310 mount -- if I do, will I still need to buy epic flying in order for the conversion of and use of the 310 speed, or is that already programmed in and I can save 10,000 gold per toon that I go through and get the 310 mounts on?
Jun 17th 2010 4:25PM In reading over the talent tree revisions of druids and shammy's, I see both resto spec's got a "heal with x and get y (an offensive cast) at free/reduced" type ability. However, in both spec's the requirements to get hit capped for their caster dps counterparts are down the trees and convert spirit to hit. With duel specs I don't see many people needing to grind as heals anymore, so any thoughts on what the usage of these talents is aimed at?

I SOOO heart these two articles -- so much so I am working my way through doing the same thing on my paly :)
Last week was the first week I really tried, but then had to go back and do all the key quests as entering the portal and being stuck between two doors you can't unlock was a slight pain!
Got through the front 1/2 with only a couple wipes (mainly pulling too many casters or get stunned and pummeled) and all was good......until the Opera. OF COURSE I draw Romulo and sit there for about 8 minutes trying anything I can think of to interupt Juiliane's heals until just bubble hearthing.
In the end made about 200 gold net after paying for some repair bills due to easily correctable mistakes -- this is just some great soloing fun to someone who never tanked this @ level and is near to having 4 80's that quests line are kinda dull and boring now.
Mar 5th 2010 1:28PM I like the idea of buffing the "schools" of magic, making two schools as our staple -- I don't know how many times on my boomkin or my ele shammy we get a trash pul and I start tab targetting through all them and get "immune" "immune" "immune".....HoL/HoS is the first that comes to mind
Mar 5th 2010 10:25AM Would it make more sense to perhaps have Eclipse buff our DoT's? Have a Lunar Eclipse do "Increase Starfire/Moonfire crit by x (assuming that the moonfire DoT's remain able to crit)" while Solar Eclipse "Increase Insect Swarm/Wrath damage by x"
I think I have a basic understanding of all the scaling issues (and I'm assuming that haste and crit are not going to be one of the stats that has a new cap for each "tier" in Cata), and this might limit a little of the problem of moving during an Eclipse and loosing 1/2 of the DPS for certain fights, however I'm sure without other rebalancing the proc will happen, people will pop the associated buff and then continue to fire and forget on the normal DPS cycle and just up the DPS "standard" on normal fights.
Feb 25th 2010 3:20PM Granted GC's comments don't seem to favor the idea, but I think it's a lot more do-able than people give credit. Rogue's already have this (poisons), locks already have this (spell/fire stones), and locks even come with the "situational" abilities in curses as well (my lock is not my main, but I have been playing him lately :P).
I think the bigger issue might come in the fact that some classes DO have this capability -- do we need to become more redundant and start molding classes closer and closer together? Where does "bring the player, not the class" meet "ehhhh....take whoever, he can _ _ _ _ _"
Jan 26th 2010 3:57PM The other day our warrior MT was having issues dying quickly on the bosses in Plagueworks, so we went in and looked at his gemming. Using the Tankpoints add we increased his advoidance by a few %, but it was done by SOLELY gemming +def gems. I thought it was a strange conclusion, but when he did actually gem how it was calculating out it did drop as much as Tankpoints said it would. I checked my Tankpoints and calculated mine, and it was like 80+dodge, 70+parry but only 40+def to add 1% avoidance. I know the stats you can directly gem for have dimenishing returns, but does the bonus avoidance from stacking defense over the cap NOT subject itself to the dimenishing problem?
Jan 25th 2010 11:07AM In our guild we have what is known as "pulling a Fire".
It started back in an older guild I was GM, as one of the players had toon names all w/ fire in them, and his hunter used to always pet pull, usually in BC-heroics we were still struggling to get through.
But then came the ulitmate. We finally got geared and progressed through the Kara key quest, and were working on the initial wing. We are moving up to the trash prior to the Opera, and all the sudden the hunter (not the pet, FOR ONCE!) takes off running straight through.
He not only pulled both the mobs, but also pulled all the audience.
EVERYONE was like WTF?!?!?!?! just happened.....
It came out later he went aak (asleep at keyboard) and somehow managed to hit and hold down the forward key.
So now anytime some makes a crap pull (ESP. if it's not a tank) they get the "good job, you pulled a fire"
Jan 19th 2010 4:32PM I'd have to agree with most of the post, however I respec'd awhile ago (when I was about 500 or so haste) and found a HUGE bonus in going 5/5 reverb. I was running into lots of down times of continually casting but the GCD was up, so I started weaving Earth Shocks in prior to the start of the next bolt and noticed a decent dps increase. I now am running at more like 900 base haste, and hadn't thought about removing that from the rotation since the bolts should be up for every GCD, but in the mean time taking (and using) the extra shocks sure seemed to increase my dps performance, but made the spec a little less "vanilla" to play than the flowchart.
