Officers' Quarters: The perils of guild mergers {WoW}

Apr 13th 2011 1:06PM The simple truth is guild mergers do not work. Guild mergers suffer from the same problems that face any group of people planning to merge with another. Simply put around half of the merged group (about one half of each original group) will feel that the new group, and it's new people, are not the group they joined. This is exacerbated as people really don't like change.

People's commitment and investment in virtual groups, online gaming guild etc., is necessarily much less that any real life group. Real life groups struggle to get people to fully commit to making a merger work. Realistically, the chances of getting a virtual group to do this are practically none existent.

This is too often representative of the result: http://www.ragequitblog.com/?p=411

The Queue: Almost our celestial anniversary {WoW}

Apr 13th 2011 12:54PM I clearly see that you have not (been to a bar or slept with a girl).

The Queue: Almost our celestial anniversary {WoW}

Apr 13th 2011 12:50PM LMFAO - Pay actual real life money from an in game mount?

I also consider "sparkle horse" to be TRH. It's good to see all the fan boys, who thought they'd be specially and parted with real money only to find every other r'tards riding around Dalaran on one, voting down any reference to TRH! Attitudinal blostering FTW!

Oh and it's ugly too.

Breakfast Topic: What are your Warcraft movie predictions? {WoW}

Apr 8th 2011 9:21AM It will favour the alliance. Humans and blood elves will not behave or appear in anyway gay. The Forsaken will not feature.

It will be god awful.

I think that covers it.

The Daily Quest: Giving a few pointers {WoW}

Mar 20th 2011 1:42PM /RAGEQUIT is an often funny, sometimes informative, new blog about playing WoW in Cataclysm. There is a bit of a warlock bias, but Arcane Mages have ben featured. :D

Breakfast Topic: I just bought a $25 imaginary horse {WoW}

Apr 19th 2010 8:42AM $25...I would if it was actually atractive. Blizzard you failed on the mane...and the legs are too short.

Phat Loot Phriday: Celestial Steed {WoW}

Apr 18th 2010 12:05PM Hmmm...I'm not against buying things to pimp your game. Lil KT for instance is very tempting. I am going to pass on this mount for the same reason I passed on Midnight everytime Attumen dropped him. It looks awful.

Midnight had spindly little legs and huge yellow glowing club feet. This thing has that ugly great 'armour' thing where a translucent, flowing, star studded mane should be. Potential the best looking part of the mount is obscured with an irrelevent piece of armour. Tres bad model, but hilarious to laugh at, especially when people are sitting outside Org AH 'penis waving'.

Breakfast Topic: My life is a mess {WoW}

Apr 11th 2010 8:09AM GarbageFU - absolutely invaluable when even those grays have a significant sale value. :D

My level 80 Warlock can never part with her Nathrezim Mindblade. We worked very, very hard to get to Prince...then get back to him again and again until he was finally down.

Breakfast Topic: Are boss mods cheating? {WoW}

Apr 5th 2010 8:55AM Well the raid leader could simply provide the information DBM gives me. He could go even further and not tell me what the boss is about to do but what I should do next. That would actually be worse, at least with DBM I need to remember what each boss move is and how I should respond to it.

If DBM wasn't allowing me to focus on striaght out tanking, healing or DPS-ing the raid leader would.

Drama Mamas: Suicide threats {WoW}

Mar 19th 2010 12:05PM @George

Why so angry? Why so determined not to understand the feeling of those who are so troubled that suicide does become a viable option? Why so selfish as to put your need for another person before the needs of that person?

Part of the reason that any depressed person becomes suicidal is an inability to cope with the burden they carry. Adding another - responsibilty for the feelings of others if they choose to leave - would seem to be counter productive.
