Shifting Perspectives: Predictions for Cataclysm druids {WoW}

Oct 12th 2010 7:43PM "Eh I don't think it's all that bad, healing had gotten awfully easy. I just feel like they've stripped all the flavor out of druid healing. Going from an amazing raid healer to a moderately okay tank healer, and removing tree form for such flimsy reasons. Ugh it just makes me sad"

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Win a pony from WoW.com {WoW}

Apr 15th 2010 7:01PM ....I keep swearing that I will not give Blizzard any more of my real life money. So hopefully I'll get a free star-pony and keep that promise.

In-game models I would change if I could {WoW}

Dec 30th 2009 2:45PM Druid tree form. Please, for the love of ponies, Druid tree form.

I'm a woman. I play a female toon. I like that said female toon is aesthetically pleasing. I also like being a Druid and turning into things. I have no problem with any of the other Druid forms (except aquatic, but it's not like I need to be in aquatic very often), especially since cat and bear got that gorgeous update.

Tree makes me cringe. I'd love to see something a little more anthropomorphic from tree form--more of a dryad type thing for the females and more like those big bearded tree guys (i.e. the ones in the Nexus) for the males. Blizzard has shown us tree models with "legs"--can we please have some legs? And everything else female in the game has boobies. I would like tree boobies please.

It would also be really keen if bark/leaf color could be attached to skin and/or hair color sort of like the feral forms. I realize that trees probably account for a very slim percentage of the overall player population, but the hideousness of that form seriously impacts my enjoyment of the game, which may sound shallow but is the truth.

Trees kinda get shafted enough what with not being able to do any sort of damage or meaningful cc while in form (something other healing classes do not have to work around)--throw us a makeover bone please?

Nov 23rd 2009 5:53PM When I first saw that this pet was being released through the TCG I wept bitter tears, knowing that it would never be mine. Make my wishes for cuteness come true, Wow.com!

Breakfast Topic: How far would you let WoW microtransactions go? {WoW}

Nov 9th 2009 3:00PM No one's gonna see this back on page whatever...

Ideally, I'd kinda like to see the pets available both through the pet store AND through some sort of excruciating rep-grind/low drop rate in-game. I'd probably end up paying the $10.00 to just buy the pet (it's not a terribly unreasonable price), but knowing that I COULD get them just through playing the game would make me feel better about it. I guess I would feel more that it was my choice to spend money, rather than time, to get the pet, instead of not having a choice in the matter at all (and if I really didn't want to spend the $10.00 I could grind for the pet).

That being said. As long as Blizzard NEVER sells Heirloom items, levels, gear, or anything that improves a player's performance in the game, I'm fine with the world of micro-transactions and I'm actually pretty happy that they exist--to a certain extent.

My main concern is that the success of these types of transactions will see the online stores expand and expand and expand with pets, tabards, and other customizations while items obtainable through playing the game become few and far between. These vanity items will become a massive money-sink for players--which I suppose is good for Blizzard as a business, but it rubs me the wrong way since I pay for the service every month.

I've felt that way about the TCG items in the past--things like Goblin Gumbo and the Magic 8 ball, the fishing chair and foam sword rack are all extremely interesting and fun. But you have to spend the extra money to get them--And I don't think that there are quite enough fun items like that that you can get just through playing the game (the Titanium Seal of Dalaran is possibly the most disappointing reward ever) to balance out what is available through the TCG.

So, as long as the Pet Store remains smallish and Blizzard keeps adding new pets/vanity items that can be obtained in-game I'm okay with the micro-transactions.

Also: Blizzard, if you are by some twist of fate reading this, I want a pony. A PINK pony. That sparkles and is bad tempered. I'm not joking about this. It could be the 100 pet achievement reward: OH! MY! A Little Pony! .

(I've given up hope for a pink pony mount since those mini-mounts are going to be available through the TCG now.)
