May 21st 2009 1:51PM How do yo make older BGs more attractive? Simple as giving us rewards. AV in my BG was damn near broken until 3.1 when they started to offer lvl80 epics for honor only (ie hatefull set pieces, deadly off set pieces).
Was nerfing WG a good idea? yes and no. Yes because I get get more out of each daily (10 shards) and can focus more on battling. No because last night I suffered horrible lag again. Note I never suffer lag except for WG and I have a new, powerful PC.
Apr 21st 2009 3:24PM A couple of thing are being missed here.
There are players, like me, that spend a lot of time playing yet do not raid or do arena. I am glad that there is an option for the solo player. Battleground honor currently can not be used to buy much. (I'll spare my usual rant about the difficulty of PUGs and instances)
So these ilvl 200 epics are relevant. I had to drop 1000s of gold for an ilvl 200 epic 2 handed mace, now at least I have a way to grind for something equivalent.
The other thing to point out is the difference between ilvl 200 and ilvl 213 is not that much. Yes as you swap out all your pieces it adds up, but to say an ilvl 200 sword is junk is a bit much. I am frustrated by how the WoW masses tend to be obsessed with gear, tier this and tier that.
Although my time zone isn't a perfect match for my guild I have experienced some great raiding. Because our guild is very friendly they encourage raiding noobs such as myself to join whenever possible. So even though I'm decked out in ilvl 200 "junk" we have never gave up mid raid. This is because a well organized raid with minimal bickerign results in dead bosses
Blizz has done a lot in WOTLK to make it more about the player and elss about the gear.
