Breakfast Topic: Where will you ride out the Cataclysm? {WoW}

Aug 3rd 2010 6:13AM there's a little place in tanaris I always feel the need to send my characters when they have been retired or my account is going inactive for a while. well only my main character(s). you have to swim to get there but at the southern most point on the map on the outer ridges of the region there is a little teepee on an outcrop. I think I'm gonna pick one poor soul to holiday at my favourite far away spot. since tanaris will be underwater I'm wondering if my little getaway will even exist anymore. if not I will reek bloody vengeance on deathwing! otherwise I'm cool with the fella.

you hear me deathwing? don't mess with my time share!

Spiritual Guidance: The top ten shadow priest glyphs, page 2 {WoW}

Jul 31st 2010 9:17AM id just like to state that my original comment was PURELY related to running five man dungeons.

absolutely i can see that SW:P would be useless soloing. i dont use it when soloing either. i use VT + mind blast then mind flay usually end em. sometimes a DP on mobs that last a little longer.

but i really do love a glyphed shadow word pain for five mans early on in northrend. in those early levels it can really help. and this is only in my experience and certainly not claiming it as a must for every priest.

that's all im saying. certainly not saying anyone in particular is a FOOL for not using a glyphed SW:P

:p

Scattered Shots: How to tell your friend he's a huntard {WoW}

Jul 29th 2010 3:02PM haha. i have done a few of these things. but its usually after ive been playing way too long and have started to lapse a little in concentration. i usually own up if i mess up too bad. but honestly. does anyone out there maintain 100% concentration in 5 mans?

no excuses though. i am a part time huntard. card carrying and ashamed of myself huntard.

forgive me. unless you are a paladin who spends the rest of the instance complaining and abusing everyone in the group because of a simple lapse in concentration. in which case fall bottom first into a pogo stick.

Jul 29th 2010 2:43PM yeah i dont use SW:P on solo mobs either. things die way too quickly. but like i said SW:P and its glyph has been very VERY handy for me in instances to help me keep my mana up.

great article overall :) but SW:P's glyph is definitely something to at least think about if you have mana issues. ESPECIALLY if you use the tactic of dotting up and unload your DPS on a target that the other group members arent concentrating on.

just personal preference. :)

Jul 29th 2010 5:12AM I disagree with your appraisal of glyph of SW:P slightly. lately I've been levelling a shadow priest (converted from disc when i gave shadow a go and found out it was SO much bloody fun) and once I hit northrend I noticed I started having some mana issues. previously i didnt have much of a gripe with mana but once i started getting more and more northrend gear it seemed that i just couldn't conserve enough mana whilst keeping the damage flowing. i was TAPPED!

the gripe i have is the sentance (this is not verbatim) "the glyph is only useful in raiding" and the whole "fights only last ten seconds" in five mans. granted ive only got him to 75 so far and as I inch him closer and closer to 80 things may change but fights (in my experience) last longer than ten seconds. maybe they shouldn't and maybe over every server this strikes true but in my experience and on my server its just not true. on almost every pull i've been able to have SW:P up for all of its ticks. and with a little help from mind flay this last a lot longer.

so once I made a switch in glyphs to this little huckleberry my mana issues were almost completely solved. before the switch i was popping dispersion on cooldown. shadow fiend on cooldown. arcant torrenting as much as possible just to keep up with the groups between mobs. now my mana may not always be at 100% but its a rare thing that i need to use dispersion for anything other than me over aggroing and i never pull out my shadowfiend unless i want that evil little glow around me. oh how i wish he would stay longer. these fleeting moments are far too rare a thing.

so while im sure 99% of people will agree with you and will have had a similar experience as you (im sure my comment will be downrated as being a nub or noob or rent boy) us 1% should take the time to see how handy our fellow DPSers are coz if they aren't pulling there weight this may be an opportunity for you to take em of the top of the chart with some good old sustained DPS. i know its worked great for me. i love seeing a warlock or mage ask for a DPS meter and then feel the angst once they realise they got out DPSed by a shadow priest. (and i'd just like to say im not one of those annoying sods who spam it as soon as they are top i only ever post when asked ;) )

Brother Alvito. a shadow priest. melting faces and loving his lack of mana issues thanks to glyph of SW:P
