Reader UI of the Week: Uth's UI {WoW}

Jan 25th 2011 10:16PM That did it. Thanks!

I had all of these settings set to the way you recommended. When I unlocked the chat windows I was able to lower it's height. I swear I tried before and it didn't work. :)

Anyways thanks again, now I just need to lower the hieght on all of my panels and I'm all set.

Jan 25th 2011 6:43PM ARGH.

Make that "Recount:Hide()" (or whatever the recount command is) for the last recount statement.

Jan 25th 2011 6:40PM I looked up how I set this up here at home....

On the panel that will be "housing" recount and omen:

On the OnLoad script section, add the following:
self:RegisterEvent("PLAYER_REGEN_DISABLED")
self:RegisterEvent("PLAYER_REGEN_ENABLED")

On the OnEvent script section add this (not sure about the recount part as I used Skada)
if event == "PLAYER_REGEN_ENABLED" then
Omen:Toggle()
Recount:Show()
elseif event == "PLAYER_REGEN_DISABLED" then
Omen:Toggle()

Jan 25th 2011 6:36PM You may have to point me in the right direction. I do have the high CPU prat module loaded, but i'm not seeing any place that looks like what you're talking about in the interface. Thanks

Jan 25th 2011 5:17PM I can't remember the exact code, but kgPanels allows you to add script to the panel that "holds" recount and omen. You register the game events that tell whether you're in combat or out of combat. (Can't remember the event name, it's something about regenerate health).

In psuedo code it's something like this:
If in combat then recount hide and omen show
If not in combat then recount show and omen hide.

I can send the exact code this evening if someone else hasn't by then.

Jan 25th 2011 5:14PM kgPanels is pretty simple (at least in my opinion).

In simplest terms think of it as designing "boxes" that you can drag to where you want on the screen then, using various other addons, you can drag objects into/onto the boxes created using kgPanels.

You set the size, color, background. After playing with it for about 15 minutes you'll find it pretty user-friendly.

Jan 25th 2011 4:42PM I did my first UI customization a few weeks ago. (No point in sending in pictures as it's not that original.).

Anyways, I went with the solid bar across the bottom style and found that my overal bar height was driven by how "short" I could make the chat window. Even using Prat, I wasn't able to shorten the chat window as much as I had liked, so the UI ended up taking up a good chunk at the bottom of the screen.

I solved this by using MaxCameraDistance (i think that was the name) to be able to zoom out a bit more.

My question is, though, is there a better tool that would allow me to shorten the chat window more?

thanks

The Queue: Animal House {WoW}

Jan 13th 2011 11:27AM Though Kevin Bacon was in Animal House (one of my faves as well), can you really call it a "Kevin Bacon movie" simply because he was in it? I woul think that term could only apply if said actor/actress was cast in a leading role.

Just my thoughts.

You were just looking for an excuse to play tha clip weren't you? Come on, admit it.
