Breakfast Topic: What was your first raid experience? {WoW}

Sep 24th 2011 9:31AM My first raid was also Kara, but I hadn't read up on boss fights, brought scrolls, and only had health potions. I had no idea what I was getting into.

And I got one-shot on the first pull by one of the spectral horses.

It's hilarious now, but I seriously wanted to drop raid in embarrassment. D: I was convinced to stick it out, and then I joined a weekly pug of Kara, which led to ZA, which became a raiding guild. I'm glad I stayed in raid. :)

The Queue: My "Glimpses" prediction {WoW}

Aug 12th 2011 11:32AM @Puntable - are you interested in a minion position? Are you willing to take blame for all raid wipes? Willing to run down the wrong hallway and/or butt-pull numerous monsters? Be sent into lava and just mildly complain about it?

If so, the Warlock Union MAY have a job FOR YOU!

Pay is decent, we offer benefits. Contact your local Warlock Union. I'll put in a good word.

(Note: "decent" and "benefits" are subjective terms and the definition of such terms may change at any time once we are in possession of one (1) soul.)

The Queue: My "Glimpses" prediction {WoW}

Aug 12th 2011 11:11AM Why does my imp hate turtles so much?

He's faced off against numerous and scary bad guys, has pulled entire hallways due to his fantastic pathing abilities, and tanked dragons (for a brief and spectacular moment). But a turtle? Runs and hides in the nether until I can resummon him or get back up on my firepony to show him everything is okay.

Any advice?

The Classifieds: 7th Annual Proudmoore Pride Parade {WoW}

Jun 15th 2011 4:08PM You mean keep to themselves like all of the straight people who don't walk down the street holding hands? Or perhaps all the straight people who don't kiss their sweetie good bye after dropping him/her off at work? Or any numerous advertisements, television shows, and movies that never involve straight people in relationship?

Or perhaps the straight people who are beaten up and/or killed for existing because they are straight?

You, Zabre, are on the wrong side of history. One day we'll look back on statements like these in amazement just like we look back at Loving vs Virginia and the 19th amendment.

Good luck, Proudmoore! I hope that you have a spectacular party!

The Queue: Da bears {WoW}

Nov 7th 2010 1:18PM Has anyone heard anything about what Blizz is doing for the 6th anniversary of WoW? (Two years ago we got a baby bear and last year we got a mini Ony.)

Lil' Alexstrasza has apparently been removed from the latest beta build - maybe she will be the happy anniversary present to us?

(Or maybe I should just hope for a wonderful Cata release. :) I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have an anniversary present due to the whole "releasing a new expansion" thing going on...but they did release Wrath and the bear around the same time.)

Aug 17th 2010 2:35PM I might wear make-up more if it came in fear-bomb.

Thanks for letting us know about this!

Breakfast Topic: A random topic {WoW}

Feb 26th 2010 9:59AM The main problem with School of Hard Knocks is that it pretty much RUINS the battlegrounds for a week. :( I felt absolutely AWFUL seeing eight people pop out their orphan in the flag room of WSG and seeing the "real" pvp-ers just sigh (or worse, go ballistic).

If they wanted to do the achievement more fairly, it should be a "win AV/AB/EotS/etc" with your orphan out. Then you have a reason to actually stay and fight, rather than doing dumb (or counter-productive) stuff like camping a tower or standing in the flag room with six other people. There would be a REASON to go all-out in the BG - there were so many people who just did their achievement, and then /afk'ed out.

(Note: I am not a pvp-er. And druid who stealthed into the Horde base and repeatedly dropped the flag last year, I heart you.)

Love is in the Air achievements retroactive? {WoW}

Feb 7th 2010 3:38PM Confirmed. Completed last year, everything but the perma-peddle and new boss kill were already completed as of 2/15/09.

(Also, this achievement is about a billion times better this year. Much preferring it to the old "log in every hour" situation from last year!)

Armory Data Mining updated for patch 3.3 {WoW}

Jan 25th 2010 9:00PM Like the "pure dps" classes have been saying: why would anyone take a warlock or rogue when they could take a ret pally or boomkin/kitty who can switch into heals or tank? I think, unfortunately, that the numbers of players with pure dps class mains are going to continue to get smaller and smaller. "I'm sorry, we're going to take DK over you - we're going to need an extra tank on that one fight."
