Jul 16th 2010 5:57AM "You can walk back into Blackrock Caverns now, there is an entrance portal close to Blackrock Spire's."
Now, one DOES simply walk into Blackrock Caverns.
Apr 7th 2010 6:28PM Alright, so regarding the Maelstorm Weapon changes to include Lava Burst, I think this could open up much exciting possibilities. Say that, when you get 5 stacks of MW, you Unleash Weapon. You get increased haste for your next few swings and your next fire attack gets a bonus of 20% damage. THEN you use Lava Burst.
This could build up a potential multi-branched priority list of abilities. Per example.... you start combat with a SS, followed by a FS, and a LL. Assuming you'll have 5 stacks of MW by now, you cast Unleashed Weapons and Lava Burst. You could then alternate with Earth Shocks instead of FS and Lightning Bolt instead of Lava Burst until UW is off-cooldown.
Still there's several problems with this idea of mine. I was just playing (very loosely) with the concept, and probably it wouldn't offer the maximum damage output. My point is, I think it may allow for more open and personal Enhancement ability rotations.
That, or I'm just sounding silly. Am I?

-Please: Por favor
-Thank you: Obrigado / Obrigada (first one for masculine use and second for feminine use)
-I don't know: Não sei.
-I'll tank: Eu faço "tanking"
-I'll heal: Eu curo / Eu faço "healing"
-Can you share quests? : Podes("Podem" in the plural) partilhar quests/missões?
The general buff terminology is also used in portuguese, so it's not worth translating the names of the abilities. However, "Please turn off Aspect" will be "Por favor desactiva o Aspect".
-Ready? : Pronto(s)?
-Ready! : Pronto(s)!
-AFK: Longe do teclado (althrough the english termination is also used)
-BRB: Volto já (again, the english termination is also used)
-Wait, please: Espera, por favor
-Follow me: Segue-me (refering to a single person) / Sigam-me (refering to one or more people)
-Go: Vai (singular)/Vão (plural)
-Stop: Pára (singular target)/Parem (plural targets)
-Which way? : Para que lado?
-Straight: Em frente
That's it for directions. For the following verb forms, since portuguese distinguishes between the second person of the plural and the singular, instead of using a single pronoun like "you" in english, I'll put the singular form first and plural second, separated by a "/".
-Let the tank pull: Deixa o tank puxar/Deixem o tank puxar
-Don't pull aggro: Não puxes aggro/Não puxem aggro
-Move! : Mexe-te!/Mexam-se!
-Need heals: Preciso de heals/curas
Need and Greed are terms that maintain to portuguese when you talk about a WoW point of view.
-Need on items you want for any reason: Faz/rola "need" em items que precisas por qualquer motivo.
-I need this quest: Preciso desta quest
-I need to kill X: Preciso de matar X
-I need to gather X: Preciso de reunir X
-Let's run back from the graveyard together so we don't get lost: Vamos correr de volta do cemitério juntos para não nos perdermos.
-Would you like to run another? : Gostarias de fazer outra? / Gostariam de fazer outra?
That's about it for portuguese. If you need anyone to make more extensive English-Portuguese translations, I am free for it.
Jan 12th 2010 3:23PM My tankadin and healadin friend likes to tease me about how nerfed enhancement shamans are. On a completly unrelated note, he also believes the penguins are plotting a revolt on humanity to conquer the world.
I don't really think enhancement is that nerfed, but for the sake of good measure and scientific curiousity, what is your and the community's thoughts about this?
Dec 5th 2009 3:30AM The Infinite Dragonflight played a big part in the first half of the BC endgame, and we saw them return in Wrath in a new 5-man dungeon and some particular quests in the Dragonblight. They weren't of big importance to the overall Wrath storyline, but it I like their appearances.
Do you think the Infinite Dragonflight storyline will finally be concluded in Cataclysm? We know dragons will be a substancial part of our adventures there, and remembering that Deathwing will be the new antagonist, it seems it would be the perfect time for throwing in another storyline related to dragons and finally learn of Nozdormu's motives.
What's your bet on this?
Aug 14th 2009 11:07PM Listen up you bastards who think you're always right and are trying to joke with me here!
here's nothing wrong about the progression of the Lore and the story, or even updating the world which we play in, but completly ignore the already existing lore and make fun of it with absurd developments just because it suits your needs or even throwing away all of the old world, which introduced us all to wow, and we've all traveled trough, is complete idiocy! I know I'm not always right myself, but don't you think this would be too much of a complete destructive process?!
If you don't think so, then you're the sorry one.
Aug 14th 2009 9:54PM You want to know what i think of MMO-Champion's data? BULLSHIT!
Almost none of the new class/race combinations follow lore! Tauren paladins and priest?! To any fucking idiot who thinks this is true, Taurens do NOT follow the Holy Light!
And Night Elf mage? They hate the arcane, for god's sake! The arcane split Azeroth into 3 landmasses, and they saw it happen!! They'd never use arcane magic! It makes no sense to add new combinations, because the limited co,binations also make the game part of what it is!
Secondly, flying mounts in Old Azeroth and almost complete alteration off the Azerothian landmass? Do you have ANY idea of how many files they would have to rewrite to allow both those things to happen?! I'd be like redoing Vanilla WoW from zero!
And about the other things and lore mentioned for the expansion in the MMO-Champion article? Thrall, the new guardian of Tirisfall? HE HAS NO EFFING RELATION TO THE GUARDIANS, AND HE WOULDN'T LEAVE THE HORDE TO THAT MONGREL GARROSH!
The part about Cairne and the new playable races make sense, but those are about the only little things in the WHOLE article that makes sense!
And before anyone who is reading my post thinks I'm overrreacting because it's just speculation, and the game's not just lore, I'm not! I am a true Blizzard and Warcraft fan, and any real world of warcraft player could see that this info is just a VERY VERY VERY BAD and STUPID prank, even those who care nothing for the lore and only like the game and the combat and the leveling! Because any true WOWer enjoys the experience, the core of game, and believing this shit is going completly against it, against the very essence of wow, and i am COMPLETLY DISSAPPOINTED in anyone who, for a second, belived Blizzard was just going to soil World Of Warcraft with this.
I'm completly mad and angered at the personswho posted the article at MMO-Champion and tyhe other sites which say this, because those idiots were too blind too see that this is complete trash! Those who believed this could actually be true, shouldn't even play wow, since they like betraying its existance so much
And mark my words, if Blizzard ever makes all the things mentioned actually happen... I shall fill their stupid forums with complaints and a petition to turn wow back to normal!!!!!!!!!
Jul 27th 2009 6:15PM What is the Engine of the Makers actually supposed to be? Once, by curiosity I flew all the way to the bottom and all i found was a frozen floor, and what looked like a broken refrigerator device. Is there some lore behind the location, or is it just there for the sake of existing?
Apr 28th 2009 4:19PM I must agree with most things that were said here, there's just no way to counter them.
But, take a good look at the inner workings of the Alliance. What makes them still hold on with each other? Politics. It's not like the night elves are life companions with the dwarfs or the gnomes or vice-versa. They allied together to survive.
About the Horde, yes, you might argue that they're a bunch of idiots that only care about honor and violence, but there's more tying together the Trolls, Orcs and Tauren than political agreements. They respect eahc other, and they help each other.
When the Darkspear tribe of Trolls joined the Horde, they gave up cannibalism out of respect. The tauren share with the orcs their love of the hunt and their roots of shamanism, and the 3 races all have a certain sense of honor.
The forsaken and the blood elves are a completely different matter. The forsaken have the ultimate goal of wiping the Earth clear of all life except for them. You might think they are definately bad, but look at it their way. Most of them were just living their peaceful lives when they were struck by the plague, and became undead. Can you imagine what you would do if that happened to you? Having your life turned upside down, all of a sudden all your friends seeing you as nothing else but a monster, an aberration. And to boot it up, you have to serve against your will a tyranic spirit, commithing murder at every occasiuon and your people also turn against you! Obviously your personality would also take a 180 degree turn, no? Sylvanas is obviously evil, but she did have a part in letting the Blood Elves join the Horde. Some might say it was just because she was once a high elf just like them, but have you ever thought it was guilt from seeing Quel'Thalas fall?
About the Blood elves, they are a special case. When they were still High Elves, their kingdom fell, their source of power abd prosperity was destroyed, and they lost most of their people at the same time. 90% of the remaining high elves renamed themselves the Blood Elves. They turned away from the alliance, true, but so did the Alliance and the night elves from them. Then came the Horde, and Thrall initially refused to let them join the Horde, but eventually welcomed them.
And that brings me to another point.
The leader of the horde Thrall is probably the most forgiving person in the world. He let the forsaken join, despite their questionable motives, he has not demonstrated amiosity towards humans, even considered having a peace treaty with them at some point, probably. Besides, Do any of you guys think it's easy to rule a faction whose past is full of bloodlust and death, and controll them and educate them into becoming better? And STILL keep an eye out for traitors inside his midst while not obviously trusting them 100% but believing in them? Thrall believes in people too much. And he has to put up with morons like Garrosh who are risking to bring back the orcs into the madness they once were. NOT ALL ORCS ARE LIKE HIM! If you hear to the complete talk between him and Saurfang in the Borean Tundra you'll understand that the orcs still fel guilty from the atrocities they commited under the sway of the Burning Legion. I won't keep on this blabber and talk about the Horde and Alliance Symbolisma and the Wrathgate becuase i've said my most important points and agree with the ones Outis and Kylenne presented also.
However, one last thing. Yes, we, as players have a GLOBAL view of all things that happened in the lore, King Varian does not. His hatred is comprehensible, and understandable. But, i can still say that while he is not a complete (and excuse the the expression) ASSHOLE like Garrosh, and managing to keep his cool about all the situation, hes far away from being such a great leader like Thrall or Saurfang. What i'm trying to say is, the Horde are not the only ones to blame, but i undertand Varian Wyrn's thoughts.
