Apr 4th 2012 2:34PM I got Fox into the beta. True story
Mar 30th 2012 3:09PM I wanted to ask you guys about Area of effect looting and its effect on the economy.
It seems to me that AOE looting works for games like SWTOR because out of all the enemies you kill, only a small number have loot.
My concern with wow AOE looting is that people will be able to loot old dungeon and raid content much more quickly and essentially make the economy very cash heavy.
Do you think this is a possibility?
Mar 23rd 2012 12:45PM Listen, I'm not in a hurry to get into the beta, I'm really not. That being said, here's my problem:
In my opinion, Blizzard has been doing a horrible job with these types of miscommunications. They don't say things until the walls start shaking from all of the QQ. They honestly need to work on their transparency. It's something they keep saying they would like to do, but It's just not there yet.
For me, I think it's these little things that are leading to the drop of subscribers. Did they know that they had a million AP people? Yep. Did they know they weren't going to get them in all at once? Probably. So just say that? Deal with that QQ early.
They could have been very upfront about this and had less of an issue. But they choose not to. You would think they would have seen all the yelling and moaning about SWTOR giving early access in waves and learned from it. And that was a matter of a couple of days AND they would tell people who was invited daily.
Personally it comes across to me that they want the hype and the excitement of people waiting more than they care about all of the people they upset. The problem is, that a lot of people are tired of getting upset.
Just my two cents.
Mar 21st 2012 8:22PM I'd be interested to know from everyone who gets in how long they have been playing and when they signed up for the anual pass.
I was surprised that I didnt get picked yet considering I signed up while they were still anouncing it. I'm guessing it's because I've only been playing for 3 1/2 years.
Congrats to everyone who gets in first.
Mar 9th 2012 1:56PM I agree on the vetran program and i understand the frustration for not getting anything for the comitment but I think of it like this. I've been subscribed to cable non stop for 12 years, They have never givin me anything except for what I'm paying them for. Every single day i see a comerical on the service i'm paying for offering new people this free and that free. Does that bother me? Nope, Why? Because the more customers they have the less chance it's going away any time soon. It also means the more customers they have the more they are going to do (in theory) to keep those existing customers). They might not get me a free month but they will add more channels, improve service etc.
They aren't going to do that if they don't have the base to justify it.
TL:DR is that free stuff= more people. More people= the game you play being around longer.
Also, Mornin' Cut /inside joke
Feb 14th 2012 4:33PM @trickfred I kind of see what you are saying. But here's the thing. It's an MMO. Everything you said is what every mmo does at cap. If you aren't into end game content or pvp, I don't see why you would want to play an mmo if you don't want to raise alts
Feb 1st 2012 9:05AM im not really a fan of most mmo sites but i guess, if i had to pick one, I'd pick swtor for now. Not because of layout so much as i like the galaxy maps and other interative stuff.
But then again, it doesn't have the age of EQ or WoW, so who really knows what kind of mess it will be in a few years
Jan 23rd 2012 10:06AM Sounds to me like the mountain dew pet thing that they did in WoW
Jan 19th 2012 4:08PM "It's safe to say the past two days haven't been the best"
What am i missing here? All i saw was them put out a patch that had pvp problems. The first major patch to be exact.
I think the judge hammer is swinging a litle hard on a game that just came out.
Jan 6th 2012 9:48AM I had coppied a link about lady gaga to email over to my wife and accidently put it in trade.
