Game developers bullish about Australian tax break bill {Joystiq}

Jul 7th 2011 1:40AM Let's just hope the tax breaks don't all go to the rich gaming companies that don't need it as much as the smaller companies that really "need a break".

German artist wants you to roll around in de_dust {Joystiq}

Jul 3rd 2011 12:03AM So he wants government funds(tax money) to fund "art" that nobody will be allowed on and will just be another spot where trees and grasses are paved over and people can't us for anything better?

I know, art is important, but I don't understand why we should choose art over nature or making space useful to justify paving over nature as much as possible.

Maybe I would be fine with this if the space was both art and useful, like some of the skyscraper designs there are.

The middle part of the story will have to change a lot since computers and the internet have gotten a lot more complicated since that movie.

PlayStation Vita's rear touch panel almost got bumped {Joystiq}

I have flip-phones as well. I won't go with any other kind.

I too wish that the Vita had a flip-up shield(possibly will be in a future case design) for the screen or was a clam-shell design.

Yes, it's a bit poorly placed in my opinion as well.

I love the Vita though. It's the first handheld since the Gameboy Color that I feel i really really want.

Actually, I wish the Vita was wider. That would give plenty of room for the touch-pad to be away from fingers. It's going to take some conscious effort to sue anyway, so it won't be something we quickly use while using the face buttons and such anyway. I would also like a bit better shaped handholds, more like the dual shock, for the sides of the Vita.

Honestly, I would just design it a bit differently, but it is pretty good.

City of Heroes going free-to-play later this year {Joystiq}

Hopefully, this will give them incentive to make the game more efficient, if they can, or make a sequel.

Jun 22nd 2011 5:02PM @Batzarro The worlds WOrst Detect

Purchase the Going Rogue Complete Collection. You won't have to download most of the game and you will get all the content plus a month of game time which will be VIP time when Freedom goes live.
It's the best deal right now.

Always click the link for big announcements. There are too many details to repost here. Read carefully as well or you may misinterpret what the changes actually mean.

Actually, I'm not overly excited.
It's just that if I post anything to say about a topic at all it tends to be a lot and I tend to think of new things as people give me ideas or they pop into my head.

I have two switches. My most common state is "nothing or little to say" and my other state is "quite a bit to say". :P

I am happy that this game will finally allow me to support it without shoving a "until hell freezes over" monthly fee down my throat that I can't even use all of.
