Blizzard announces first round of Firelands raid hotfixes {WoW}

Sep 21st 2011 3:17AM Well congratulations to Blizzard for creating a three tiered Caste System for raiding. This is going make the hostiles even more hostile. The wow community is up in arms because, no one is happy. The game is getting old. Resources are being diverted. And subs are cancelling, in large numbers, wait till you see what happened this quarter. It will be a blood letting. But when you put all of your eggs in one basket (read: making 90% of an expansions time sink end game raiding), well the game ends when you cant raid, for what ever reason.

Mike Morhaime: Real names will not be required on official Blizzard forums {WoW}

Jul 10th 2010 7:56AM Yes indeed, but damn I was close in my estimate.

Question Melithine, were all 13k accounts that responded negative or opposed to the Real ID? My exact quote was:

"I am guessing a mass of about 5,000 people really got freaked out by this...", which would actaually be around 50% of all ACCOUNTS that responded.

And once again, just to stroke my ego, 5k is alot closer to 13k than it is to 50k

Jul 9th 2010 4:24PM I am more shocked by peoples reaction to Real Id on the forums than Blizzard actually trying to implement this. And please forgive me I am not trying to invalidate anyone's feelings on the matter, but as someone that would not would not have been affected by Real Id, I just dont understand how this could cause you to state:

'My heart broke a little when the original plan was announced, I can rest a little easier now.'

How many times have u posted on the official wow forums Lou-Doggy? It must be alot.

Jul 9th 2010 3:41PM This 'back peddling' has zero effect on me. In over 3 years of playing WoW, I have posted on the wow forums perhaps three or four times (and by the way, reading that crap is almost as bad as being in /trade chat). However, I do commend Blizzard in having the will to change a major feature for the forums, based on player feedback.

This 50k thread, got me thinking. I wonder just how many individuals actually posted. I am convinced that many people posted on alts, and there were multiple replies from the same characters; in addition, those same individuals were making phone calls and emailing Blizzard directly. I am guessing a mass of about 5,000 people really got freaked out by this, enough to /ragequit, OMG OMG I cant wait to post directions to your house and post your families names because someone COULD/MIGHT/WILL do that to me. I suspect this created more fear in the nasty pond scum trolls than the regular wow players. The trolls were the ones that had the most to lose, having their real names posted.

In short, a frightened troll is a dangerous troll.

And as a side note, I wonder, all these people that spent hours and hours emailing, calling, and worrying over Real Id on the wow forums, when was the last time they emailed their congressperson or a newspaper about their 'outrage' over war or poverty or corruption in our government?

Yes, I realize WoW is a game and people play this to 'escape' real life. But when having to use your real name to post on a video game forum effects you so profoundly, it causes you take action in real life, we should all realize there are far more serious matters at hand that could use a little of that same passion.

Cataclysm class and mastery systems explained {WoW}

Jul 7th 2010 2:02PM This looks to be very exciting. I for one am not bothered in the least about 'cookie cutter specs'. The reason being: player skill > gear/talents. For example, I play on the Emberstorm battle group, I play Alliance and frankly we are horrible in BGs. Is it because the Horde has done more research into which spec to use in PVP? The fact that some player isnt playing with the 'perfect' spec wont change the fact that Alliance players in Emberstorm dont/wont/cant pick a healer out of a pack and focus fire them down, stop fighting on the road and for the love of everthing that is holy, get off the freaking Farm when we dont have the Blacksmith, we will allways lose.

Cookie cutter? LMAO: as it stands now, each class (horde/alliance) looks exactly alike, wearing the same 'cookie cutter' gear. Its hard to tell one human warrior from the next, which IMO is more depressing than the fact they both use the same spec.

P.S. Stop trying to hijack/troll this tread into a debate about Real Id, go add to one of the 12,000 threads out there about that subject, this is about changing the talent trees.
