Unrest Forces Cancellation of February USA-Egypt Friendly {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}

Feb 7th 2011 1:57PM FYI, the US defeated Egypt 3-0 at the 2009 Confederations Cup, not in 1999.

State of Alabama Wears the Crown as College Football King {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Jan 12th 2011 1:01PM Hmm...I seem to have missed Florida State and Miami being in the playoffs. When exactly did this "fact" take place?

LA Galaxy Stands Firm as David Beckham Limited to Training Stint With Tottenham {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}

Jan 10th 2011 2:19PM Good, and it's about time someone laid down the law to soccer's man-whore and held him to the commitment he made. Could you imagine if he treated his marriage with the same disregard? Wait, never mind.

NCAA Bungles Cam Newton Mess {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Dec 28th 2010 4:22PM Umm Matt, maybe you should dig a little deeper before criticizing as well. Offer, Acceptance, Consideration and Performance are the elements of a contract. Acceptance does not entail actually receiving value. It is an action and nothing more. Cam is and has always been ineligible at the Barn.

Cam Newton's Law: Auburn Rides Star Quarterback to Victory {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Oct 25th 2010 3:46PM I have to admit, at this point in time Newton is the runaway winner for the Heisman...and I say this as an Alabama fan. It may be counter-intuitive, but I think the only way to stop him is to not go after him. Hold the line, play containment and let him throw. I don't think that he can do it on his arm alone, but if you flush him out of the pocket he will eat you alive. I hope we can shut him down on turkey day. Either way it's going to be a big Iron Bowl. Roll Tide!

McMurphy's Law: What We've Learned During the Season's First Month {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}

Sep 29th 2010 11:23AM This is why polls should be withheld until week five or six, when we actually get an understanding of who's legit and who's a pretender. It would also remove the voter's "I'm still right!" bias, wherein voters refuse to drop the losers or raise the winners much...at least until they have been proven completely wrong in their predictions.

The Hex in Mexico: Anatomy of a Winless Streak {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}

Sep 24th 2010 3:34PM I have to say, all of the comments above hold some validity. The Azteca is arguably the most hostile atmosphere in all of sports and officiating there is distinctly in favor of the home side. That said we (the US and MLS) need to find our own distinctive style. We need to think more about what we are trying to do and how to exploit space. So far we have used pure athleticism in lieu of a solid tactical approach. I hope that Bradley and the next generation of US soccer minds are able to take us to the next level in the sport.
