Time Is Money: Are materials you farmed free? {WoW}

Mar 15th 2010 11:39PM To me the wow economy is like this:

Gold on server divided per item on server

There are only two ways the game creates gold. When looting a mob or doing a quest. There is a limited amount of quests. There is a limited amount of mobs that spawn predictably.

All items spawn in predictable ways. From mining nodes to BOE epics.

My question is:

Why hasn't someone done a spreadsheet?

Then you would have a concrete answer as to the actual worth of a of everything. I think wowhead et. al has the data btw.

The Queue: Keeping it classy {WoW}

Mar 9th 2010 9:06PM Why not just log the IP someone logs into from and map it to a location & if someone tries to log in from some place far away i.e. china not let them? I've also read about keyboard cadence, where it remember the timing of you typing your password as well as you the actually password to authenticate you. You can do other things like make a signature of the machine that is logging in when you make you account and if it doesn't match when you are logging in it rejects you.

On a side note does anyone get blizzard fraud email on email account that are NOT linked to there wow account?

Why Blizzard can't (and won't) sell gold {WoW}

Mar 4th 2010 10:57PM Blizzard could avoid this by having an in-game store that you could buy items from. The items would be account bound. You could only buy them with "Blizzard points".

Shifting Perspectives: Tanks and the barrier to entry {WoW}

Mar 3rd 2010 8:12PM The reason there are not enough tanks for random dungeons is because end game content does not require 1/5 of the party to be tanks. In 10's it is, but not in 25's the most I've seen used is 3.
