May 25th 2010 6:48PM There is always a point to flask in a raid, it's a part of maximizing your role as much as possible. Instead of waiting until after the first wipe to flask it could help you prevent it in the first place. I've always been of the firm belief that if a player doesn't do what they can to maximize their abilities, then they don't deserve loot. It's the same with gems and enchants. If you don't put in the effort to be good, then why should I help you? If you're too cheap to afford a 20g flask you probably shouldn't be raiding in the first place. Of course if you're in all ICC 25 gear and you're doing Naxx 10 it's a different matter, but when you're raiding content that's at your level you owe it to the rest of the people in your raid to be just as prepared as they.
Jul 18th 2009 6:54PM Yet another slightly amusing mage column.. But when are we going to get a somewhat informative column for all the raiding mages out there? Ulduar has been out for a while now and while we've been working our ways through it gradually improving our gear all I've seen happening over here at Arcane Brilliance has been articles about professions, PvPing, whining and now some tips for the leveling mages. What happened to covering current content? Like the itemization on Ulduar gear and how it seems to favor fireball over arcane, or what specs are better for certain fights or whatever. I don't mind theory crafting and checking Tankspot and all that, but A guide to Ulduar from a Mage's point of view would be nice. Jokes and nostalgia are all good, but I'm really reading this in hopes of getting some valuable information.
Jun 19th 2009 3:21AM This made me LOL!! I was amazed too! They are actually paying a little attention to mages, and it's not a nerf! yeeei!
Jun 19th 2009 2:55AM I am strongly against this change! It means that people who have just hit 80 can just grind a few heroics and all of a sudden be geared to the teeth without having any raid progression. Giving out gear just to get people to see the newest content takes away the value of having that gear. The days were your gear could tell other players how you're progressing through the raids will be over. And in the process wow is being made into one giant grind fest as we've been given a reason to go back and keep grinding the heroics we've already grown tired of (which is why we stopped running them).
May 2nd 2009 6:41PM This is the worst achievement I've ever had to do, and before i get smart remarks on "not having to do anything", hear me out. I've been trying to do all the world achievements, and this is supposed to be an event achievement, NOT a pvp achievement. The only way I can get the violet drake I've been working so hard to get is to continue queuing up for WSG, despite the fact that I'm really not a very big fan of doing BGs. But this achievement has turned my slight dislike into pure hatred and a lot of frustration. In every single battle half the team is camping the flag, not lifting a finger to stop hordies from grabbing the flag, and just watching as their teammates die so they can return the flag instead. If the point was to encourage players to do more BGs, blizzard has failed miserably.
