May 4th 2009 2:25PM I have to agree with Zach, epic dev fail.
11 million subscribers, $15 Billion a year...
You'd think Blizzard could afford to hire someone with a brain.
So blizz wants to encourage BG participation? Make some epic (and worthwhile) PvE gear available to be purchased with honor points. I can purchase PvP gear with PvE emblems, why not the other way around?
I don't understand the concept of making everyone in the game mad at everyone else. "Let's make the PvE folks PvP for this achievement." Great, now the PvPers are pissed at all the noobs in the BGs, and the PvE folks are pissed that they get ganked repeatedly trying to do something that a Blizz employee spent 15 seconds coming up with and an exec took 3 seconds to approve.
Blizz, please, spend $75-$100k on someone with a brain who actually *plays* the game to give you some advice, and *listen* to it!
Oh, and another thing: all this talk about PvE QQing...
Pve suffers endlessly from PvP QQing. Don't think so? How many PvE nerfs are the result of "wah, X class is OP, wah?" Rather than bucking up and telling you: "hey, use your brain, *think* and come up with a strategy to beat that class," Blizz just swings the nerf bat, over and over.
Frankly, I can't wait for the day that Blizz finally realizes that PvP and PvE are two seperate entities, and PvP is found only on PvP servers. I still haven't figured out why I have to choose between a PvP and PvE server... the only difference I can find is that on a PvP server, you get ganked when a douchebag player decides, and on a PvE server you get ganked when a douchebag dev decides.
Meh, maybe a "game" that consistently (and seemingly intentionally) frustrates and pisses off it's players is a source of endless entertainment for the empty suits at Blizzard.
