Apr 21st 2011 12:18PM If someone deletes a char still in the guild or transfers server, this won't show up in the guild information at all. So maybe he left the guild first or changed faction.
External sites showing changes in the guild roster would be wowprogress.com (only if the guild is listed) and warcraftrealms.com. The first one scans the armory, the second relies on someone with the WoWCensus addon. Both don't get paid name changes by design.
Apr 10th 2011 5:22PM Same here, I created my Resto Shaman on EU release day and have 275 days /played and over 10k achievement points. But Cataclysm is so boring, that I canceled my account and haven't logged in since mid of March.
There is simply nothing to do at maximum level. After a couple of weeks all factions were exalted. I don't need anything from heroics, because all items are streamlined and only differ in secondary stats, which even can even be reforged. My guild, which had 10-15 people online even in late Wrath, turned into a ghost town lately and the raid has faltered. I can't stand to level more any more toons, because of the linear zones.
WoW was a great game, which has consumed more time than I could ever image. But now it's time to move on. Good bye, Azeroth.
Mar 19th 2011 5:42AM Don't forget about offensive plate items with mastery. If you reforge the other secondary stat to dodge or parry, it's usually even better than a defensive item of the same iLvl without mastery . So you should consider, adding at least http://www.wowhead.com/item=62384 and http://www.wowhead.com/item=67238 to the list.
Sep 22nd 2010 3:38AM Did you consider the 5% crit from Tidal Mastery talent which will disappear as well? Because it is "only" for healing and lightning spells it will not apply to the gereral crit value in the stats screen on live servers. So I suppose there is another 5% crit gone.
I tried the new mana tide totem in the beta (level 84) and it gives me back only 6k mana (13%). But this might be to the fact, that I have not much mp5 on my ICC gear, which was converted to spirit. Missing Raid buffs might have an impact too.
Sep 14th 2010 3:39AM Nice to see how all the Blizzard fanboys vote down opinions, they don't like!
The logic is the following: A couple of months is hardy only two, and even in this case the work on Cataclysm would be finished just before November 2nd. So Blizzard would have to deploy the 4.0 patch way before Cataclysm is finished.
Please look back a the Wrath beta two years ago: Naxxramas, the first raid tier was opened on September 6th and the release was November 19th. In the Cataclysm Beta there is no sign of a raid one week later. We don't even have the leveling content complete (i.e. no quest rewards in Uldum and Twilight Highlands). So I simply doubt, that an earlier date is possible, because the changes on the class mechanics are much more severe and need intensive testing.
A release of 2011 is just my personal opinion. I think, this PTR release is just a bone they are throwing us to keep us interested.
Sep 13th 2010 11:59AM This seems extremely unlikely to me, considering the unfinished state of the beta. In Wrath the pre-patch 3.0 went live more than one month before release. Now we have little more time til November 2nd, but the pre-patch only went to the PTR and has only a fraction of the needed features.
Tom Chilton said, that Cataclysm still needs a couple of month to finish maybe two weeks ago. So I would still bet on a 2011 realease,
Jul 28th 2010 11:30AM I can not imagine, how they will release Cataclysm this year. The Beta looks so unfinished: Level cap 83, Talent trees under heavy construction, only three instances available, Professions not really done. Minor things like Worgen females not playable, mobs not dropping any loot in Vash'jir and Deepholm, Mastery and Reforging not working...
You cannot compare this state to the Wrath Beta, which started end of July two years ago. Almost everything up to the first raid tier was fully implemented and nothing major was added or changed after that. So when you consider the Wrath release date of November 13th, I would be really surprised if we get Cataclysm before March 2010.
Jul 1st 2010 7:08AM Naxx was so easy, that you could clear it right after turning 80 in crafted blues and quest rewards. I had 4 pc T6, but only kept it 2 weeks into raiding because of the set bonus. Apart from that, players just beginning will never get server firsts over experienced raiders.
From my point of view as a fairly ambitious raider (ICC25 9/12 hard modes) this itemisation politics is pretty much devastating. Why should I run another 4 months the same raid instance to kill the same old bosses over and over again, just to earn some achievement points and items, which will be replaced within a couple of hours once cataclysm is live?
Even farming shards for one or two more Shadowmourne makes little sense now with these crafted level 81 weapons on the horizon.
Jun 21st 2010 8:55AM This event fits perfectly into the current picture of lacking content.
I've already done all the achievements on my main last year and I'm not planning to do this for the twinks. None my chars needs any drops from the event boss, because the cloaks are much worse than those available for frost emblems. Even the Scythe is not much of an upgrade over the staff from Pit of Saron heroic.
So, no Fire Festival for me this year.
Jun 9th 2010 3:15AM Exactly this took the fun out of raiding for me. Today everybody has to run ICC 25 and 10, normal and heroic, with his main and with his twink. Some people do ICC nearly every day since a half year. There is no point going back to Ulduar or Naxx. Once you have equipped a new character with basic emblem gear it's ICC or nothing.
In classic and BC there was always a new tier of raiding waiting for you, once you had finished the final boss of a raid instance. Today it's: OK, we've beaten the Lich King, let's do the same stuff on Heroic. Blood queen basicly just has 20% more HP on heroic, but the buff lets us do 20% more damage. So the encounter is exactly the same like in January. Were is the fun?
In BC you could always run Karazhan with your twinks, and new players, even main needed emblems. There is nothing like that in Wrath. Nobody needs items from the former raid tiers.
So my conclusion is: The attitude "Everbody should see the raid content" is crap. Blizzard is just to lazy to design new instances for everybody.
