Breakfast Topic: Where's MY profession mount? {WoW}

Mar 28th 2011 9:05PM Mjolnir? As a Flying Mount? That'd be so awesome! Imagining a Dwarf spinning the hammer like Thor and then flying into the sky. Wow, that's cool.

I was thinking of a suit of flying armor or something, but you'd need engineering or enchanting to get it to fly physically or magically respectively. A lot of lys.

Out of the other suggestions: The Leatherworkers versions are the best thought out.

Breakfast Topic: Which Cataclysm heroic do you dread seeing on your loading screen? {WoW}

Mar 22nd 2011 9:32PM Blackrock Caverns - I hate this dungeon because everyone looks at the Tank and says, "Do you know how to do Karsh Steelbender?" "Yes, I know how to kite that boss." "Are you sure?" "Yes." "Are you ABSOLUTELY sure?" *Sigh*

Vortex Pinnacle - I like that the first boss is more challenging, but the fact there is no minimum safe range to escape the lightning when he retracts his shield is tarded. I hate the wind effect with the tornadoes for the second boss because I can barely see anything. They'd be better off creating a pattern of green arrows pointing in the direction of the wind.

Grim Batol - *Shudders*, too many undergeared and tarded group members in this dungeon. Instead of a minimum iLevel of 329, it should be 335 for GB, HoO, and Tol'vir.

Halls of Origination, Tol'vir, Deadmines, Shadowfang - If I get into a tard group, this is going to be a long night. Otherwise, no complaints.

Throne of Tides, Stonecore - I love these dungeons. All the fights are fun.

Patch 4.1 PTR: Caster legendary news and speculation {WoW}

Mar 1st 2011 10:56PM I know we've all heard about tanks whining about the legendary weapons, but I'm a tank and I have to say that when are we going to get a legendary? I know everyone says "Thunderfury is a Tanking Legendary. But that is just plain BS. Look at the stats again, Stamina? Yes. Agility? Hells naw. No Defense, Dodge, Parry, Block stat to be seen. It is not a Tanking Legendary, Tanks were seen using it because all Tanking weapons sucked back then and that was the best 1H weapon they could get there hands on."

List of Legendary Weapons:
Sulfuras - 2H Melee DPS Mace
Thunderfury - 1H Melee DPS Sword
Thori'dal - Ranged DPS Bow
Ashbringer - Though Cancelled, it still is a 2H Melee DPS Sword
Atiesh - Caster DPS Staff
Warglaives of Azzinoth - 2x 1H Melee DPS Sword
Val'anyr - 1H Healer Mace
Shadowmourne - 2H Melee DPS Axe

That's all of them I believe. Tanks even got screwed out of epic Epics. When they announced Quel'Delar, I was saying, "Cool, we get a cool tanking weapon and I don't have to run current raids to get one."

and to my surprise: They had a 1H Agi Melee DPS, 2H Agi Melee DPS, 2H Str Melee DPS, and 1H Healer.

...I nearly screamed at the game because it is a pain to find tanking weapon upgrades. We killed So-And-So in this raid this week and...nope, it didn't drop. Oh well, next week maybe the eleventh time is the charm.

What's my point? I'm not saying to screw Healers and DPS out of cool gear, let's just have the third role to this party get some consideration. There's a lot more Healers and tons more DPS than there are Tanks, but Tanks are also essential in the PvE dynamic of WoW. If you have awesomely-geared Healers and awesomely-geared DPS, but crappy-geared Tanks...yeah, your raid isn't going to last long.

I know Tanks can get upgrades elsewhere, but...I would like to see a Legendary on my character some time during my Tank's lifetime and I'm sure other Tanks would agree.

5 things Blizzard should implement from other MMOs {WoW}

Feb 5th 2011 5:06AM Out of all the ideas the author suggested from other MMOs are well chosen.

AoE Looting, which only loots the mobs you kill, would save countless time especially dealing with lower level areas where several dozen mobs laid dead on the battlefield. however if there was a small option system added to it that allows you to only loot Gold, Gold and Cloth, Everything.

I don't much about Warhammer Online or RIFT, but public quests can get a little diluted because of the two differing factions in the game. At the end, what if the randomization gave all the loot to the Alliance players and none to the Horde or vice versa. It would be a better system if the loot were duplicated for both sides and each item were given to Alliance and Horde separately and simultaneously.

Appearance Slots...okay, I guess but due to the visual progression as aforementioned, this is kinda a wasted feature. I see a lot of players getting their style to unify, but at the same time, doing that for EVERY new piece of gear, it is just a waste of time especially if you are a picky person and hold up the Raid while doing your Character's "hair".

Dual Targeting - This I would love to see and agree with you on all points. but another good thing about this is if the healer has his/her enemy target on the boss and they are targeted with idk Harvest, Searing Flames,

Feb 2nd 2011 9:59AM Four Characters: Arthas, illidan, Malfurion, Medivh.

Arthas Specials:
"Rise Up!" - Arthas slams his hand to the ground and undead hands grab the opponent's feet, holding them in place.
Soul Reaper - Arthas places a purple sphere on the field. If opponent touches it, they suffer extra damage from attacks until it wears off.
"Die!" - Arthas raises his hand and a quick ice stalactite raises up between enemy's feet.

Arthas Hypers:
"Come Forth!" - Lv1 - Summons a ghoul to aid its master.
The Cold of Icecrown - Lv1 - Stabs Frostmourne into the ground, shooting ice spikes in all directions.
Might of the Scourge - Lv3 - Arthas freezes his opponent and casts his Army of the Dead. "All that awaits you is death!" He says as the ghouls maul the enemy.

illidan Specials:
Flight: illidan can fly for 1-2 counts.
Shadowmeld - Turns invisible for a 1-2 counts.
Azzinoth Charge - He rushes in with both glaives slashing.
Feel the Fire - Lays a green fire trap on the ground for his enemies

illidan Hypers:
Spinning Glaives - Lv1 - illidan jumps up, spinning himself around, doing a circle of damage before, during, and after he lands.
Demon Form - Lv1 - illidan sets himself on fire, becomes black, and grows larger. Increased attack and speed for 10-12 counts.
"You are not prepared!" - Lv3 - illidan rushes in, unleashing a flurry of blows before turning into Demon Form, passing through the enemy as if they were air, lighting them on fire as they collapse to the ground.

Malfurion Specials:
Entangling Roots - Sets a trap that ensnares the enemy for 1 count.
Summon Stormcrow - He points forward, a storm crow swoops across the air(Like Jill's special).
Summon Bear - Jill's Special again, but Bear instead of zombie dog.
Starfire -Shoots a bolt of celestial energy down on opponent.

Malfurion Hypers:
Feather Storm - Lv1 - Malfurion raises his arms up, pointing the feathers forward. Launching the feathers in all directions forward.
"Come, Brothers!" - Lv1 - Malfurion rushes forward. If he hits, Malfurion does a few blows before enemy is clawed by Claw Druid, sent into air with a Storm Crow flying through them, sending enemy back to the ground.
The Ultimate Sacrifice - Lv3 - "For the defense of this world, come!" Numerous wisps stick onto opponent before exploding in a burst of celestial energy.

Medivh Specials:
Frostfire Bolt - Enough said
"Earth, Rise!" - A pillar of Earth goes up between opponent's feet (Like Arthas, but slower and more damage)
Prevailing Winds - A gust of wind shoots across the air above Medivh.

Medivh Hypers:
- Elemental Barrage - Lv1 - Medivh sends a large wave of all four elements across the screen.
- Guardian of Tirisfal - Lv1 - Irradiates himself with arcane energy, giving attack and defense boost.
- In Defense of this World!" - Lv3 - Medivh rushes in, striking the opponent with a glowing fist. The opponent slides back to notice the energy glowing within him/her, it expands like a newborn sun, engulfing the enemy within before dissipating.

(Arthas vs. illidan)
Arthas: "So, you want another rematch after your last defeat?"
illidan: "It is you who'll be dying at my feet!"

illidan: "I will not give you the same mercy you've given me."
Arthas: "This time, you will be a part of the Scourge!"

(Malfurion vs. illidan)
Malfurion: "Brother, will you ever learn?"
illidan: "Brother, there's no holding back this time!"

illidan: "I only want the arcane power of this world, leave...please!"
Malfurion: "Sorry, Brother. I will not allow you to run rampant anymore!"

(Arthas vs. Medivh)
Arthas: "Are you gonna to preach to me again, old one?"
Medivh: "You are among one of my greater failings, you must be stopped!"

Medivh: "Arthas, destiny works against you this day!"
Arthas: "I won't be stopped, I am the Lich King! I am eternal!"

Jan 25th 2011 7:15AM Loremaster, The Exalted, and 100+ Mounts. Those were the ones I worked the hardest on and so the ones I'm proud of the most.

Breakfast Topic: Has Cataclysm let you down? {WoW}

Jan 15th 2011 8:00AM The main problem with Cataclysm compared to other expansions is the initial content. Unlike Burning Crusade and Wrath, there was no new continent introduced. Instead we got five zones that helped us level from 80 to 85, a small handful of dungeons, and an even smaller portion of raids. Now over time, there will be more dungeons and more raids, but I'm only talking about the initial/launch content.

Where was most of the focus for this expansion? Level 1-60 Zones. Shattering the world and following up on the various questlines of yesteryears. One good example is Westfall, a few years after the Defias' fall, an old couple(and their cow) are murdered and you help the investigation team expose the reason behind the murder as well as the rise of a new menace in Westfall where the legacy of an old enemy still lingers.

Personally, I welcome this new change because their Old World code needed some desperate fine-tuning. Plus I like that the zones each have their own story that evolves as you play through the zone compared to Camp A has problems 1,2,3 -> Solve Problems A1,A2,A3 -> Get Sent to Camp B which has problems 1,2,3,4 -> etc. -> Go to Next Zone.

In conclusion, Cataclysm is nice for new players and new alts leveling from 1-60. Not so nice for those going from 80-85 however. Will it change? Well, we'll have to wait and see.

Breakfast Topic: Who will be the ultimate boss encounter of WoW? {WoW}

Dec 15th 2010 9:41PM Right now as of the game and all three expansions we've pretty much defeated or will defeat some of the biggest names in WoW Lore.

If there was going to be an Endgame Boss, my vote will be for:
Sargeras Reborn!
