Dec 11th 2009 1:56PM I have done BFD on a lvl23 mage (full clear - dinged twice) and Gnomeragan on a lvl27 Druid (we skipped most everything but the final boss because no one but the tank could remember where anything was) so you might want to give it a try. I didn't think to look if RFC was on the list they could run. (I have done that on my all 80s - great way to wrap up an FTA run if you save Thrall for last). Tonight when I respec my lvl27 BE Pally to Holy I will check for Stockades.
Dec 9th 2009 3:39PM I ran Heroics last night on all 3 of my 80s. My biggest problem was that I happened to be flying toward the new instances when the group formed. I was stuck on the loading screen for HoL while listening to a Frostwyrm try to kill my DK. I actually got thrown back out and managed to fly to safety before re-entering the instance. My advice: only queue in Dalaran.
Then I decided to try the DF on one of my alts. My lvl23 mage happened to have all the heirlooms at that moment so I queued and ended up in BFD. It was actually my first-ever level appropriate 5-man before Ramps. We had some DC issues but in the end, we did a full clear and I gained two levels. Now I intend to respec all the alts that I can into either Tanking or Healing and plan on spending lots of time in instances.
Dec 8th 2009 5:25PM > I have no idea why you are so behind on gear.
For those of us who aren't in raiding guilds, have leveled more than one character to 80, and haven't been totally focused on gear it doesn't sound so surprising to me.
I started in the game last December and now have 3 80s and lots of other alts at various levels across 3 realms. The best geared one (4 Conquest pieces) is a character that I started the last day of the Mid-Summer Fire Festival.
203 days to get 405 Emblems of Frost from 5 mans = July 1st
I would love to think that before Cataclysm arrives, I will have at least one of my characters decked out in lvl251 Tier 10 gear. But I am not going to count on it.
Dec 5th 2009 9:52AM My priest has Tailoring/Alchemy so for the mage I am leveling I picked Enchanting/Inscription.
Dec 4th 2009 5:15PM Is there any lore reason why worgen are going to be able to be druids, or is it just because Blizz said so?
Nov 30th 2009 8:18AM My main is a male Human Paladin because that appealed to me when I was starting out in the game being a male human myself. A few issues, though.
1) When I started during the 10-day free trial, I only had access to the original 8 races.
2) The character models for the Draenei and Blood Elves are simply better.
3) The character models and animations for Draenei and BE females are more interesting than male and that is generally true for most of the other races as well.
4) Many of the IRL women in the game I know tend to like Hunters, Warlocks, and Unholy DKs. Druids also tend to be popular. That tends to impact to send them in the direction of Elves, Draenei and Tauren.
These days I have two DKs I play: a female Draenei and a male BE. I have a female Draenei Priest. I am also leveling 3 more: a mage (D F), druid (NE F) and shaman (D M).
Nov 24th 2009 5:24PM During Hallow's End, I was riding in Dustwallow Marsh in a driving rain. I passed by Shady Rest Inn into the Barrens and bright sunshine. It actually made the transition seem that much more interesting.
Nov 20th 2009 1:46PM Vanilla - AQ40 - C'Thun - ilevel 88
BC - HP - Starting Quests - ilevel 81
BC - Sunwell - Kil'jaeden - ilevel 164
Wrath - BT - Starting Quests ilevel 138
Wrath - Icecrown - Arthas - ilevel 277
During Total Biscuit's rant about the badge changes a few months ago, around point #6 he talked about using BC instances for "gearing up for Wrath." I guess you could have done that, but it wasn't really necessary. All four of my level 70+ characters left Outland at 68 (I didn't start playing until after the Wrath launch) from either Nagrand or Netherstorm and were still point sporting
Nov 19th 2009 1:43PM Death Knights were heroes. They start out completely under the control of Arthas.
"A hero. That's what you once were. You stood boldly against the shadow, and purchased another dawn for the world - with your life. But the evil you fought is not so easily banished; the victory you claimed not so easily held."
I actually didn't finish the questline the first time I tried it. But I re-rolled a female Draenei and found it easier. After you get out of the starting area, go to Bloodmyst Isle and earn a Tabard of the Hand and you will feel better.
But just for the record, anyone who plays Horde and slaughtered the residents of Hillsbrad for the Vile Forsaken can't complain.
Nov 19th 2009 7:51AM If you absolutely can't bring yourself to roll a DK, then you should at least watch http://www.wow.com/2009/07/02/wow-moviewatch-a-death-knights-tale-the-battle-for-lights-h/
