Jul 3rd 2009 1:07PM It's just annoying to see somethin I enjoy get the boot I guess *Shrugs* be it I need to "grow up" or whatever it still sucks. Like Dart said, since it's being discouraged more people will stop playing it leading to longer queue times, less games, and less arena experience for everyone that enjoys the 2s bracket.
Jul 3rd 2009 12:49PM If you aren't getting the best gear why bother? It's like running Black temple at lvl 75. You may get an upgrade, but just run something else and you will replace that and outshine the gear you had from doing it. Why bother?
Jul 3rd 2009 12:40PM I don't think they should do this. Three's and Five's in my opinion is too chaotic and I enjoy two's TONS more than the other brackets. Why is blizz feel the need to usher us into the other brackets? Isn't there goal to allow casuals to experience what the hardcore people enjoy?
Jun 18th 2009 4:51PM I think that it's ridiculous that DK are getting so many nerfs to tanking.
"10% bonus health reduced to 6% bonus stamina"
Slightly ok. not complaining to heavily on this one but it sucks that paladins can get 14% from talents then another 10% from their sanctuary, YET DK are getting a 4% nerf...
"Toughness: This talent now grants 2/4/6/8/10% armor instead of 3/6/9/12/15%, placing it in line with similar abilities of other classes."
DK do not have a shield.
We rely on armor and CD to mitigate the damage away. We don't have the block/block rating that warriors and paladins have, and even tho people say its broken right now, it has recieved a HUGE buff.
I can understand the nerf to IBF. Slightly understandable.
So. I lose health, I get hit harder, and i lose a cooldown in my rotation for a whole minute(not complaining about this by itself but wiht the rest of the nerfs its pretty large)
Ty blizz for encouraging to vendor all my tank gear.
Jun 3rd 2009 11:38AM "Not sure how you see it, but I envisage replacing the instant summon of it with a cast of a few seconds, removing its summon cooldown, and perhaps making it chunk a fair amount of mana to do so."
I think the permanent water elemental is an EXCELLENT idea that cld really help out frost dps and I don't feel like blizz would be buffing us too much if they put this into effect. Lock pets have silences, charms, can put a shield around the lock, and can be summoned once in like .5 seconds if they have it talented. Hunters pets have decent amount of damage + have their own CC's to aid in pvp. A smart pvp'er would take the time to eliminate these threats so they aren't to much of an issue. If they do add water elemental as permanent, though, I think it would be fair to add a casting time on it. 3, 5, 10 seconds. *shrugs* Maybe lower casting time with glyph? With a decently long casting time this would make it tough to keep up in pvp if it's killed, which puts frost mages in the same state as hunters or locks that lose their pets.
As to evocation.
I think this is highly unlikely and WAY out of the way.
If you're having mana issues even after cycling mana gems/pots there are several ways to combat this:
-MAGE ARMOR. I've seen so many raiders neglect this for the crit from molten armor.
-GLYPHS ARE YOUR FRIEND. If you're arcane you should pick up glyph of arcane missiles and arcane blast and you've got an extra spot. Either pick up the glyph of mana gem or the mage armor glyph.
-ICY VEINS. EVERY raid spec you go into should have Icy Veins. If you are worried about it being interrupted, waste a couple seconds of the buff and use it to Evocate. I personally like to save Icy Veins until the ending 15 seconds of Bloodlust and throw up a quick Evocate within the last 4-5 seconds of Lust+Icy Veins to gain back all the mana I lost spamming my rotation. With both haste buffs Evocates channel is reduced drastically, it cant be interrupted, AND in the fights where you have to "dance like the freaking wiggles" its not to much of problem to pop off Evocation fully. This also gives the tanks some time to pick back up their aggro after OMEN has screamed at me for about 20 seconds straight. :P
But my wall of text is long enough. Once again a great article and an awesome read!
Jun 2nd 2009 3:20PM I don't believe pally's need a buff, but a way to liven up the class a bit would be nice. Atleast ret anyways. My paladin isn't quite level 80 yet, but the idea of buffing any of the specs seems kind of ridiculous. Ret seems like a pvp spec blizz has attempted to add some pve elements into, and as always they have a rough time balancing out specs for pve and pvp (look at frost for mages for example). In my opinion, Ret will always be the lolret spec despite the damage output because blizz is in an ongoing battle to make all specs viable for everything and attempting to keep everything balanced, so reforming the damage mechanics to that of DK diseases+ other abilities or several other options that the other classes depend on can overbalance/crash the spec for one or both aspects of the game and can become a very tedious problem for blizz to fix. So we are damned to deal with our 2-4 button mashing unless we reroll prot/holy. >.<
May 26th 2009 1:25PM As always a great article! Always check in on tuedays to see what you've written! This really isnt a reply to Withers comment BUT wanted to be near the top for an extra tip for the frost mages. USE YOUR MANA SHIELD! Alot of mages tend to forget about that extra bit of damage mitigation that it graces us with and with frost being so mana proficient, it's not much of a loss.
On a side note, sorry for just using you Wither. xD
May 19th 2009 10:22AM Wld be nice to get the tiger saw some1 using it the other day :D I'm in!
May 11th 2009 2:12PM Good Read ^.^ It brings me back to trying to twink out my mage at lvl 59 because of a beastly gnome blasting every1 to ashes with dragon's breath :P
Despite the lack of survivability i tend to enjoy lighting alliance on fire as opposed to freezing them to death.
Only thing that i disagree with here is probably the spec.
Silences are CRUCIAL in pvp and often a missed silence is a failed encounter.
is a rough build that i didnt spend too much time on but the mana shield buff/silence/inc to resistances help out alot in pvp...some people think the mana shield buff isnt significant so by all means take the 2 points there and the point in arcane fortitude and throw it in frostbite.
icy veins usually gets dispelled right away by a decent player and in my opinion is a whole lot less useful than a 4 second silence.
