Jan 28th 2010 4:41PM What Blizz could do to help everyone with disconnects would see if they could optimize their code to use the newer hardware that is out there. I drop to 20fps in Putricide even though my system can run ModernWarfare 2 with 25 other people at 80fps+. I think their drive to keep the game backwards compatible has started to catch up with them.
Jan 28th 2010 4:37PM I think the gating is a good thing. I would rather Blizz go back to the attunement system because of the fact that it allowed a good gear check at each raid but I'll stick with the limited attempts. My guild as a whole has improved immensely as raiders because of it and we have really begun to see who the weak links our in the chain with the gated fights. Sure it is painful to wipe over and over but it is also a good feeling to know that we are not simply breezing through content and then moving on to the hard modes just because we've beat our head against the wall enough times to break through. Remember as the time goes on Blizz will make these fights easier, they've said so in the notes. Take pride in the fact if you can down them before they go easy mode.
As for the connection issues, I understand everyone's pain but perhaps people need to turn down some addons, invest in a better network card, and turn down the graphics settings. After we pushed our raiders to do this the disconnects all but stopped, and the ones that were having the problem we soon discovered had left them on thinking they could handle it. They got swapped out and the next night it was no longer an issue.
Jan 11th 2010 9:25PM I agree, STOP balancing the game around PVP. If it's that big of a deal, make a new tree that can only be used in PVP, or split the rules so it only impacts players. I'm tired of PVE getting screwed over by unbalanced PVP. It's the same reason I hate the faction champ fight. Keep my PVP and PVE apart.
Jan 8th 2010 11:37AM My concern is that they are told to "Push" the care package. When I hear terms like that I think of the jobs that I have worked in that are micromanaged to hell and back. I have a very fearful thought in my mind that if an AccountAdmin does not "sell" enough care packages they might be written up or worse fired. This used to happen when I worked at AT&T before I quit where sales reps were required to sell an specific dollar amount of "Features" or they would get canned. Why the hell do you think so many people ended up with VoiceDial for 4.99 a month? When it's your job or a care package... guess who gets a care package.
Jan 8th 2010 11:23AM Wow... Just... Wow.
I understand the need to keep costs down and help staff lower their workload but this is just a plain slap in the face for someone that has put hours in on their character and may have made one bad choice. Sure it may be the users own "fault" they got hacked, but it could easily not be the user but a parent who lets their child use their computer, or perhaps its that friend that comes over and wants to show you the next cool intarwebs thing, I can even see it being someone who has sent their computer in for "repairs" just to have more junk put on it by the repair team.
After hearing this I'm all for everyone getting authenticators as a mandatory including in Cata to prevent hackers. Until this is done everyone should say no to this offer in a form of protest. Keep your damn gold I want my gear.
Jan 6th 2010 8:13PM Isn't the exclusion of instances the problem they are running into with Oculus now and hence why they buffed the loot? If they allowed you to remove something that you didn't feel like running it would get even worse, and things would fall out of favor. A better solution might be to allow you to exclude an instance you have already run that day, thereby giving you an incentive to finish something once just to knock it out of the possible ones.
Nov 25th 2009 3:27PM Must.. Have... Mount! Please?
Nov 24th 2009 12:39PM Must have more DPS!
Nov 13th 2009 7:08PM Wish they could try to plan out a few other trees for PVP only. EG you could only activate them in an Arena or BG... then again might go against their "Keep it easy" but I think in the arenas for the most part the people are pretty hard core.
Nov 2nd 2009 1:45PM I would like to hear from the original letter writer if their answer to either of those questions is no. I'm getting the impression everyone has already assumed that they are, and therefore must be flamed. At least let the person defend their actions before you jump on the mob-wagon.
