WoW Rookie: Grouping 101 {WoW}

May 13th 2010 2:42PM Also worth mentioning to rookies is that, just like in real life, there are elitists and jerks but that doesn't mean the majority of people aren't worth grouping with...

When I first started I had some quests in SFK, I tried to solo it, not realizing the instances were designed for 5 man groups. It didn't end well...

I finally got a group and had no clue what I was doing as far as my rotation or where to go or even what was expected of me, it was a disaster... I laid off instances for about 25 more levels before I joined that allowed me to jump into groups with them so I can learn. Now I hardly quest at all while leveling alts, and just level up through dungeons.

Your first time (hehe) should be with friends/guildies. It provides that comfort space, that even if you screw up, they'll help you get it right for next time.

Drama Mamas: When the game is no laughing matter {WoW}

May 7th 2010 11:38AM i believe this is a story from way back... because why would anyone care about a weapon that drops in HOS today?...

if there wasn't already a history between these two, then the rogue is just being an idiot... lol...

Officers' Quarters: PDA {WoW}

Apr 6th 2010 10:06AM Kupo doesn't really mention what his guild chat is usually like... if this sort of thing is the usual conversations that happen, i think it might be a bit of sour grapes on his part...

I don't think it's difficult or out of line for an officer to either blatantly say in gc or whisper to them both, "guys, lets leave guild chat free for guildies to search for people to party up with or to ask questions about the game/guild"...

It's like scott said, either they enjoy being exhibitionists or that guild's gc is usually filled with nonsense...

Shifting Perspectives: Gearing a fresh balance druid {WoW}

Mar 26th 2010 12:34PM what belt and boots are dropping heroics that are better than the Ulduar crafted? Unless you are referring to something that drops in the HFOS, HPOS, and HHOR?... in which case, you'll need those Ulduar crafted to compete in those instances...

Shifting Perspectives: Gearing a fresh balance druid {WoW}

Mar 26th 2010 12:31PM Reg TOC isn't worth running before jumping into heroics?... please... healers HAVE to do it... the demand on my server is so bad for heals that a fresh 80 queues for random heroic and they will be thrown into HPOS or HFOS...

you want to gear up quick?... do the random dungeon while leveling to accumulate as many triumphs as possible before hitting 80 (2 for every 1st dungeon run everyday, got 84 on my lvl 77 druid), buy crafted gear, run reg TOC till you get every piece you can out of it, then you can jump right into heroics no problem... DPS can probably do heroics in PVP gear, so alternatively, you can gear up by grinding honor all the way to and including 80...

Drama Mamas: We hate hate {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2010 4:27PM wait... some bystander was yelling at you for letting someone else die?... you all weren't grouped?... like, he's just standing there critiquing (sp?) the way everyone else is playing?...

he must have been in queue for AV, and just practicing...

Drama Mamas: We hate hate {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2010 3:58PM obviously the healer is juvenile and bored (a bad combo)... endure the 10 minutes, then ignore the healer so you'll never have to be grouped with them again...

@ dm robin

yeah, a simple "what?" or "wtf?" would have given him sufficient notice to retract or apologize for his statement... if you didn't like what you heard drop and ignore... i think the next 15 minutes of him waiting for another healer would help him understand that such things are inappropriate...

more upsetting to me than the language is the inability to play and arrogance of some of these low level toons... dps'ers face pulling mobs, dps'ers clicking tank as a role to get a group quicker... i haven't had these problems at 80, but rather only leveling my alts...

as far as coarse language and such... the sticks and stones rule has always been my philosophy... i doubt any endgame raiding guilds or even 80 heroic groups will tolerate such behavior... they have about 40 levels to learn though...

Jan 22nd 2010 3:14PM @ Artificial

i think if you're intelligent we can all agree that 5 levels of content is going to be far less (i would say about half?) then there would be for let's say 10 levels of content as they've done in the past... 10 levels of content would be northrend or outlands... it's not beyond the realm of rational thought to think 5 levels of content would be 1/2 of that, provided blizz doesn't mess with the xp per quest, so yeah barring them revamping the whole xp situation and making quests with less xp and harder to grind to 80 (which blizz seems to be headed in the opposite direction with xp boosting gear and xp giving bgs), it will be about 1/2 the quests and content then the 2 previous xpacs... but woot! on 1 quest per level, let's start the altathon...

my only point was that maybe it's taking them less time to produce the expansion because the expansion is including less new stuff and more revamped old stuff that they've been probably working on for a long time and now have the chance to really implement it...

Jan 22nd 2010 12:49PM YES!!... MY FIRST VOTE DOWN!... WOOT!...

no, i'm not saying this expansion will stink or be lacking in content, but i think not adding any new classes (and attempting to balance it, because i think we can all agree DK balancing was/is really rough) and not adding new classes to each faction will save some headaches and development time...

i don't think they'll be as much "new" content as "revamped" content... without having a programmers background, i suspect that blizz has been working on revamping vanilla wow for awhile (while attempting to make flying viable there) and now they can finally implement it, using the cataclysm as an excuse to smooth over the stuff they weren't able to make work with flying...

*puts on poop shield*... fling away!...

i'm not saying it does... i just thought the point of this article was that the author thought it was strange for someone to say that they would delay the product if they weren't satisfied, when nobody was even questioning that they were taking too long to produce it... gotta ask the author what his point was though...
