Mar 20th 2012 4:37PM I feel horrible for breaking the optimism around Control Undead, but it seems to me that it's more in line with Enslave Demon than it does with Mind Control. I'm going to guess that undead will become your pet, and I fear it may also aggro the whole group to your new pet.
The other thing is that being able to enslave a Demon is no where as fun as it sounds. It may be slightly different for Death Knights, but as a Warlock your normal demon will always be more useful than any random demon you find out in the world. I can see Unholy never being able to use it simply because the Ghoul is a better DPS, though I could be wrong. I'm also wondering if it's going to unbalance Frost, because they suddenly have an option for a completely controllable, long term pet. Is Frost going to always have to find an Undead minion to control for max DPS? I dunno, just thinking aloud.
One last thing. If Control Undead will operate anything like Enslave Demon, nearly every mob will be resistant to the effect anyway. You'd think the Well of Eternity would be the best dungeon ever to enslave giant demons, but every one is immune to Enslave Demon. I think that most demons are immune to enslavement, so I think it will be the same for Death Knights.
