Patch 3.2's raid extension feature clarified {WoW}

Jul 8th 2009 4:02PM I like this change, and it allows guild to actually experience more content, which I dont think is a point anyone else has raised.

My guild does Ulduar 3 days a week, and on the off-days, if we have enough people we may hit Naxx 10 for our alts or something

However, if we want to do a more 'serious' raid like Maly or Sartharion with drakes up, we can now set it for a raid day which we would have spent in Ulduar anyway, or maybe used for getting the Undying achievement in Naxx

This change will allow you to see far more of the content, and will allow struggling guilds to achieve further progress, whilst allowing the more hardcore guilds to delve into new raids, whilst being able to still find time on raid days when they know people can be online, to go back to previous raids and farm that item which would help them out a bit *cough*Grim Toll*cough*, that thing never drops ;/

Breakfast topic: Are you going to turn off XP gain in battlegrounds? {WoW}

Jul 8th 2009 9:04AM The same way that those who choose to level in pve content will start off in 'better gear' for raiding?

Besides, you can farm honour as much as you like now, nothing is essentially changing except if you dont lock down pvp you'll hit 80 with less honour than you would do if you locked it

Breakfast topic: Are you going to turn off XP gain in battlegrounds? {WoW}

Jul 8th 2009 8:20AM Personally I wont, but I'm glad for the xp in battlegrounds, it gives me a valid reason to level my rogue, which previously I had only ever played on to do the daily bg, now I should be able to shoot up to 80

Also, it would be nice to see twinks put their money where their mouth is, for years they have been saying that they only enjoy twinking for the prospect of fighting other twinks, but it's stupidly obvious that a large portion of them just enjoy 2-shotting that level 12 who just entered the game, and then gy-camping. I'll be glad I wont have to experience that kinda bg to such an extent anymore, great job Blizz

The long wait for a Green Proto-drake {WoW}

Jun 19th 2009 4:05PM I assume when you say that this, other than the TLPD is the easiest drake to get, you meant hardest.

As for me, never tried, I went with the Wolvar because the dailies were easier IMO

Turn off XP gain for classic raiding {WoW}

Jun 19th 2009 12:27PM I don't see why so many people are complaining about it being pointless. It clearly isn't as per the forum QQ about classic raids or servers being viable. I don't know about you guys but when I see someone else's level 60 character they havent touched since vanilla WoW in MC or BWL gear, I think it looks awesome, and often cooler than someone decked out in Ulduar gear

After all, we all pay for the same game. I think twinking is utterly pointless, does that mean that this XP-lock is a bad move? Of course it doesn't. It won't be the same as Vanilla WoW but it's as close as it's going to get, and it's better than nothing.

Of course I'll continue raiding pre-tbc raids on my 80 paladin, because knowing my server, it's hard enough to get 25 organised raiders together for loot they can use, let alone 30 or 40 for aesthetic gear... but meh, I'm just glad that Blizz has added this function to cater for the people that have wanted this for a long time

Breakfast Topic: What do you think of region-specific pets? {WoW}

Jun 14th 2009 10:08AM Never once in my 18 years of living in Devon have I ever seen mountain dew... must be a SOUTH kinda thing >.>

But no, whilst I'm not bothered about this special promotion, because that is what it is, it seems strange to make other region-specific pets. We all play the same game, and whilst it is probably not a big issue to many gamers, I'm sure some must feel disheartened about a European getting a pet they would adore, or the other way around of course

Breakfast Topic: Is Blizzard wasting their time? {WoW}

Jun 9th 2009 9:09AM I personally think Blizz is doing a great job and teh extra things we get such as the Failocalypse and the April Fools jokes only serve to give the company a more relaxed and fun appearance, instead of a cold, heartless corporation out to make money that just cranks out work without anything special alongside it

Although, I still get bugged by the instance servers being unavaliable, can't farm that last Binding of the Windseeker if I can't enter Molten Core -.-

WoW Moviewatch: The Peasant: Cost of Freedom {WoW}

Jun 1st 2009 12:50PM It will be finished, it's been a long running project with constant updates throughout via websites such as myndflame.com, if it were stopped now, i would be VERY surprised

Although, the trailer didn't end epic-ly enough for me, "welcome to a new age," probably should have made the voice actor shout that last bit out or something to make me want more, instead I am not THAT bothered, despite my love for all things machinima

Breakfast Topic: Nobody understands me {WoW}

Jun 1st 2009 8:30AM Yeah, got to agree, collecting old gear is so much fun, running MC and BWL every week to get my pally the judgement set and thunderfury

Got a couple of guildies who are utter achievement whores, one bought a mechano-hog just for the achievement, doesnt even use it since he doesnt like how it stands out amongst other mounts

As for standing on things, after the last boss in CoS, stand on the loot chest and start dancing, best part of the instance
