Breakfast Topic: Where have you spotted any hidden homes? {WoW}

Feb 11th 2012 11:00AM Does the underwater goblin village, located out at sea, south of the compass in SE Kalimdor still exist ? Or was it removed after Cataclysm came out ? Changes in healing mechanics made it impossible to get to after Cata's release. Always wondered why on earth the devs placed it there.

World of Warcraft dips to a mere 11.4 million subscribers {WoW}

May 10th 2011 2:44AM Players are not consuming Cataclysm's content faster than any expansion before it, the content was not there to begin with ! We have less content than WotLK, this is what happens when you spend a large amount of development time on redesigning leveling 1 to 60 content.

May 7th 2011 2:58AM Again, another PvP kick in the nuts of PvE :(

Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite WoW holiday? {WoW}

Apr 24th 2011 8:25AM Almost none of them ... why ? Because for the most part Blizzard refuses to change them in any way at all, so when they roll around there's absolutely nothing at all for your main to do. I'm not one of those players that must have every achievement, mount, pet etc. on every toon, so when these events come up its very disappointing having nothing to do. in a time when player numbers are dropping its a very blase attitude from Blizzard and the B team. Here we are, new expansion, Noblegarden and from what I can tell ... no changes. Would love to eat humble pie if I'm proved wrong !

The OverAchiever: Guide to Noblegarden 2011 {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2011 5:12PM I really hope there are some changes this year, that there's something for you main to do and that they haven't just rolled out the same old stale tired old Noblegarden of years gone by. If this is yet another holiday event of nothing to see here, nothing to do, move along please, I'll be very disappointed :(

The Lawbringer: Let's read Activision Blizzard's 2010 10-K annual report {WoW}

Apr 22nd 2011 5:02PM I'd love to know how many of those accounts, especially ones claimed as new subscribers with Cataclysm's release, are gold seller accounts

WoW Archivist: The Gates of Ahn'Qiraj {WoW}

Apr 19th 2011 5:04PM Damn, wish I had of been there, having only started early BC. In comparison Blizzard sure set the bar low and succeeded with that god awful snoozefest, the Elemental Invasion !

Class revamp breathes new life into alts {WoW}

Apr 17th 2011 3:31AM Its the opposite for me, been playing since the start of BC, I cant bear the thought of leveling my alts in Cataclysm. Maybe its because towards the end of WotLK there was only ICC, so you'd level and gear them up for that. In Cataclysm, it feels there's little point in doing the same, investing an extraordinary amount of time and gold, leveling them to a raiding standard that will soon be obsolete when 4.2 hits, and again and again till the Deathwing raid comes along. I don't know about you guys, but I play for my main, which is why Cataclysm has been disappointing for me, as a lot of its content (the Shattering) was devoted to alts.

Shifting Perspectives: Murmurs' moonkin mailbag {WoW}

Apr 9th 2011 5:27PM I'd like to see female druids take on Dryad form rather than the circus clown suit they're forced to take on now, leave that for the males

PTR patch 4.1: New fishing dailies appearing in Undercity {WoW}

Apr 4th 2011 8:42PM The current lot of fishing dailys are just plain awful.

Once you've completed the achievement, leveled your fishing to 525 there's absolutely no incentive to continue doing them. Why ? Well apart from the low gold payout the biggest disincentive are the rewards from the Bag of Shiny Things:

Weather Beaten Fishing Hat (been around since Burning Crusade patch 2.4.0. 25th March 2008), Strand Crawler Pet, Jeweled and Bone Fishing Poles (been around since Wrath of the Lich King patch 3.1.0. 14th April 2009).

That's it. Recycled rewards from the past two expansions. All the other drops from the bag are low value vendor trash, and to add insult to injury both of the Wotlk fishing rods have been nerfed in value from gold to mere silver.

Look at the BC fishing rewards: 4 pets, 2 Ring, Blue Gem, Fishing Line, Recipe, Hat.
WotLK: Pet, Rods, 2 Quest Starters, 5 Ring, High Value Vendor Trash, Epic Gems, (BC Hat, recipe and Fishing Line), Tiny Titanium Lockbox.

And just to top off how god awful fishing is, on the PTR at the moment the infamous Glass Fishing Bobber becomes a simple lure: +15 skill for 10 minutes.

So here's my suggestion, upgrade the rewards to Cataclysm standard, after all its a new expansion, so how about some new rewards ? Add some new rare or even epic items to Cataclysm fishing pools (and provide an incentive for small guilds to complete the ill conceived Catch 10,000 fish from pools achievement) Give some reason to go back and do them.
