Jun 29th 2010 12:51PM This is awesomesauce.
Articles like this require stats, eh?
My age: 53
Two 80s: Hunter and Tree Healz
What a very funny couple and article! It was simply packed with wit and wisdom, I'm enjoying how the comments are picking out the fun lines. Really wonderful, kudos abound.
I agree that you can glom onto a persons age pretty quickly. I also laugh when the chilluns just don't get how they are showing their youth so blatantly.
It is amazing to me how many players (of any age) who can get to 80 and were never even once a little curious to look at an outside-of-WoW site for a talent build, shot rotations or any basic mechanic that seems to have been missing from their experience. It is in this that I find the true folly of youth.
Bon chance, Qryztal and Poli!

Totally random, one may get it easy; the other may never get it.
Never can I win the Magister Terrace mount, though the bird pet drops like a prom dress.
Jun 22nd 2010 10:56AM Gadzooks, I love this column.
Someone pointed out to me that Enchanting is indeed a gathering profession since you can DE for materials. I think a DK as a Enchanter Bank Alt would make sense, funneling greens through that toon.
I'm wary of stockpiling. Each material seems to get cheaper every day (until Cata) so it would make sense to me to sell sell sell, then buy only what I need when I need.
As far as gold making goes within an empire, for me it is riding the newest patch. If a recipe comes out or new mechanic; ride its popularity like a rodeo clown.
Jun 7th 2010 11:05AM I like that our look is layered. We might have a cool looking weapon. But our gear also might be misty or drippy. Plus the extra layer of an enchant that might make it drip, spin, whirl and sparkle.
It gets kind of itchy to me when I can feel a little bit of the status pressure to look unique; this might be via the items in this topic or pets, mounts, disguises and so forth.
As a design process, I don't think we'll ever get back to the point where two players are standing on a dock waiting for a boat and the lowbie is admiring the highbie. I loved the hesitant question in whisper, "where did you get that item"? That is when the favorite things seemed to really work as a culture. Packed in Dal or IF, it is mostly a jumble of glitter and look-at-me-mammoths.
May 27th 2010 2:59PM If you die in an ICC rep run you are expected to release and run back.
If you die while jousting in TOC, you are expected to release and run back.
If you are in a huge party, you can use /tar and the player name to find them to rez, even if its just the first three letters /tar arelin or /tar are in the chat panel. /tar is shortened for "target".
May 25th 2010 12:00PM A few months ago, it seemed that patches and world events were keeping me furiously busy in the game. Good fun but I so love to goof off in WoW.
I have been reading wow.com for things to know and do. There is a post "five old world pets you may have missed." That was a great one -- I went and happily got my Disgusting Oozling. I read somewhere that you can get a Cannon Trinket dropped in Stratholme. I want one of those.
My hunter is fairly triumph/frosty geared for ICC. I'm saving some gold to buy the Battered Hilt. I'd like to do that quest run and get the item before it's obsolete to my toon. It's pretty easy now to convince a five-man pug to kill a few extras in PoS on the hope. With the time we have, I can reach my goal.
I'm also trying to invest in my guild. I'd love to be in an informed group that has played for a while when Cata hits. The new guild system sounds fascinating. Several of my guildies are bonding to do the classic dungeon master achievements; so I'm hopeful.
There is always stuff to do. I read in the food article today that you can get a bag of popcorn in the arena in Zul'Drak. I'm for sure gonna dash over and check it out.
May 12th 2010 3:46PM Love the over-the-top murloc death scenes ... and the oh oh oh I'm dying voice.
