Mar 28th 2012 1:10PM @AnathemaOne Although this will prob be fun and I'm sure I'll take part.. a part of me agrees that this esports crap is really watering down the RPG in my MMIORPG experience. Then again, I started with D&D and was never got into call of duty online or any of that whole thing, I feel like online RPGs have been invaded by football loving frat boys.
Mar 28th 2012 12:56PM "uild Wars 2's WvW solves this problem beautifully by taking the open-world feel of world PvP and placing it into an instanced location where players are all put on a more-or-less even playing field"
Yeah. This is called a battleground. I seriously wanted to stop reading right there.
Is there ACTUAL world pvp in gw2?
Mar 17th 2012 12:27PM @nefermore Agreed. When i saw that I had to like on facebook to watch the video I cringed. Also when I read something about having to do some kind of secret war via facebook to get into the Secret World beta I basically went: "whelp, I'm not getting into THAT beta."
Yeah, I got rid of my personal facebook like a year ago...
Mar 16th 2012 2:53AM @blueshift usb mouse and keyboard would have to be supported for the console. Which is totally possible and not a terrible idea imo.
Mar 15th 2012 1:04PM "The starter instances, while beautifully rendered, seemed smallish and somewhat linear"
This concerns me. Linear pathing and constant instancing/phasing will turn me off. I really really hope there's some open world in TSW. I don't mind the cut scenes and story driven gameplay, it's just the cramped, small, instances areas that kill my immersion. Swtor would be 99999 better if they had started everyone on just 1-2 big and open world planets and added more later. As it is, it's a disjointed single player-y experience. Like a glorified rpg with just a few multiplayer modes slapped on.
No but seriously, I'm really looking forward to this game.
Mar 14th 2012 12:47PM @Kynmarcher So I guess the fact that my server dried up and is now a trial server means the game is doing great.
Mar 13th 2012 7:57PM @Kynmarcher sorry, quite a few less servers then there were. and most were light population when I logged on around noon. it's doesn't seem to be thriving as a 1 year old MMO should be. I'm curious about the subscriber #s in Rift these days and what the trend has been.
Mar 13th 2012 7:36PM I logged in for the first time in months and months and there's only a few servers left.
Is rift dying? I don't know anyone who plays it anymore and with SWTOR now and GW2 + TSW right around the corner, I fear for it's future.
I hope not because I find it one of the best MMOs out.
Mar 1st 2012 2:25PM Man I love Rift. I hope it stays around for a long time.
