Breakfast Topic: Banging our heads against the wall {WoW}

May 14th 2010 4:21PM Here's how we do it in my guild.

First off, keeping a positive outlook is a must. Use the better attempts *of the night* as your bench mark. Got him to 80% the first try, then 75% the 2nd. Hey, that's progress, let's keep it up!

Also, knowing when to take a break when people are getting overly frustrated is a good thing. With my guild, when we're face-bashing a new boss, we'll just take a step back and take 5-10 minutes to cool down, get a snack, something to drink, etc. It's all about knowing people's limits, and communication. As a raid leader, if you have a few people complaining about getting frustrated, take a break and let everyone cool their heads.

This has worked on every boss we've ever had problems with, from Yogg up to Sindy. Though, we're still working on Lich King, it's only a matter of time :D

WoW Moviewatch: Cool Story Breh {WoW}

May 4th 2010 3:28PM All this shows is that they're letting trolls get to them. This isn't a "response" to the people who dislike them, this is proof that people are getting under their skin.

However:

Gigi is still terrible.

Breakfast Topic: Where's the epic, part two {WoW}

Apr 30th 2010 4:59PM I think that, honestly, you're overthinking this a bit much. Honestly, yes, they design some of these places for certain sized groups, but truth be told, that's the only difference.

Could you honestly imagine fighting, say... Marrowgar in a smaller room? Would the fight feel the same if the room were smaller, and the boss model shrunk? What about Saurfang? That platform is tiny enough as-is.

Even on 10-man, the ICC raid areas don't feel "too big" to me. They feel appropriately sized for what they need to be -- awe inspiring. And honestly? It's the Lich King's fortress in there, would it make sense for it to be smaller?

As for Ulduar, the place was designed by the Titans -- beings obviously larger in stature than any of the player races in Azeroth. It makes complete and total sense for those areas to be so large. Hell, the smaller areas are what don't make sense to me. Take the stair wells for example. REALLY HUGE HALL WAY. Itty bitty steps.

TOC also feels appropriately sized -- it's an arena of sorts, it should be large.

While I can see your point on this, I just don't share it.

In-game fixes for December 15th {WoW}

Dec 15th 2009 11:43PM Well, I knew that you could go it in any order now, but I don't understand how those two achievements tie in with the any order thing.

In-game fixes for December 15th {WoW}

Dec 15th 2009 11:19PM "Naxxramas can now be cleared in any order for the Immortal and Undying achievements."

Not sure I really understand this.

Patch 3.3 PTR: Lich King audio files mined from latest build {WoW}

Nov 12th 2009 5:39AM That wasn't as spoilerific as I thought it was gonna be. I'm disappointed. :/ Alot of it was just sound to text we've seen already. Shadowmourne was cool, but not really considered spoilers, to me.

Mighty Battle: Hunter and Mage Tier 9 sets {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2009 1:24AM Am I the only person who thinks the Alliance Hunter headpiece looks like the Shredder's helmet from TMNT? >.> I am so totally tracking down some spiky shoulderpads, a purple cape and some claws before patch comes back.

When 3.2 hits, I shall dine on turtle soup!
