4 steps for dealing with Raid Finder harassment {WoW}

Jan 30th 2012 11:52PM Then there are those bullies who feed off of each other and harass people as a group. Most commonly found in guild runs -- I encountered such a group not in a raid, but in a Heroic dungeon, Vortex Pinnacle. I was the healer and it was my first Heroic dungeon for that toon. After the tank chain pulled two groups of mobs, I wasn't able to keep up and we wiped. The usual taunts and insults ensued. Then their hunter misdirected a pack of mobs to me while the rest of the group jumped off the edge to regroup at the entrance. I died again and left. After I blacklisted each player in the group, I reported the incident to a GM. I received a reply a few days later stating that some action was taken, though no further details were specified.

I suppose my point is that bullies can often 'work' as a group, whether each individual member may be aware of this or not. They usually have their own cadre of sycophants and cronies who enable their behavior. This pack mentality can often be more harmful and dangerous, because while there may be a 'lead' bully, bullying as a group diffuses the sense of responsibility for their actions, ie. 'no one's responsible because everyone is doing it'.

Drama Mamas: Falsely accused of public cybersex {WoW}

Dec 5th 2011 10:12PM It takes two to tango, or in this case, (alleged) ERP. If the OP was kicked because of the alleged behaviour, why wasn't her partner kicked as well?

To the OP: It's quite disheartening to hear about what happened to you, and there's a long way before we can stamp out this behaviour in online environments. But don't let this situation diminish your love for the game. Like others have opined, perhaps a brief break from the game, and thinking about a server transfer would be a good idea. And I definitely agree with the rest of the suggestions to cut your ties with your 'friend' in order for you to move on from this. You didn't torch the bridge, he did.

Aug 30th 2011 8:50PM I would also like an accompanying 30-45 second animation with swirly sparkles and wavy ribbons surrounding my character as his/her gear transforms. It could be triggered with a macro'ed /shout, e.g. KOR'KRON GUARD POWER MAKEUP~! and this video:

The Queue: Keeping it classy {WoW}

Mar 10th 2010 12:46AM Speaking of keeping it classy, is there way to report (or does Blizzard have a way of monitoring) offensive guild names?

I am in the exact same situation. I have in excess of 1000 Emblems of Triumph across 3 toons. Like you, I do the Frost Random Dungeon each day, and also have no real need for the Triumph Badges to purchase upgrades for my current gear. I don't even need those Triumphs to downgrade to buy heirlooms; I have Champion Seals for that. Someone suggested that I redeem them for orbs and such to sell, but again, I'm not that hard up on cash. I'd really like Blizzard to look at a way we can liquidate these emblems to benefit our up and coming alts.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider skipping heroics if Blizzard made Triumph Badges bind-to-account. Not while they're offering Frosts as incentives, anyway.

Enchants that require revered reputation with NR factions are all heirlooms already, if I'm not mistaken.

The Queue: Two bosses enter this one, too {WoW}

Feb 11th 2010 8:10PM Is Blizzard considering making emblems bind-to-account? For someone who's got multiple alts (and intends to level more), this would be a godsend. What would be the pros and cons of such a change?

The Queue: Irrelevant {WoW}

Oct 15th 2009 3:58AM Do you think Blizzard will add more heirloom items to the game? It would be nice to have another piece to complement the existing chest and shoulder heirloom 'sets'. Maybe even have a set bonus for all 3 pieces? If they did, my vote would be for some lovely head... armor.

From our readers: Is my Ulduar-clearing guild holding me back? {WoW}

May 19th 2009 7:26AM Thanks for the kind words, Lorgrim. My former guild has been extremely accomodating, and I have learned a bit from the more senior rogues there. If anything, it made me painfully aware of how steep the learning curve was when you start raiding. But I think I'm up to the challenge. I think I have a good feeling what I am and am not ready for. Naxx and Ulduar are out of the question, but I should be able to hold my own in the easier heroics. And from there, things can only get better. Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

May 19th 2009 7:19AM Thanks for that great link, Cat. It looks like I've got a tonne of reading ahead of me, but that's what night shifts at work are for.

I have been looking out for PUGs, but it seems that tanks and healers have more luck getting invites, but I'm sure that's true for most servers.

May 19th 2009 7:03AM Thanks for the kind words, Tilt. As I generally prefer to learn from the mistakes of others, rather than my own (saves me the embarrassment), I've now realised that I could have been doing more to improve my current, passable but substandard gear with enchants, rather than leaving them as placeholders for an upgrade that would have taken a long time in coming. I feel more confident in finding a guild more suited to my needs after reading your comment, so thanks again.
