Mar 6th 2012 11:37AM My interpretation was that the Maelstrom represented a weak point between the plains due to the collapse of the well right there, and that he used it as a convenient breach point...but I don't think this is explicitly explained anywhere.

I orignally thought the maelstrom must be draining into the abyssal maw, but geographically that doesnt work.

If resistances are going away, are we also no longer worrying about whether spell damage is fire or shadow?

Jan 5th 2012 11:08AM My guess for the fell drake/eye of the legion/demon hunter vanity item is some sort of WoW world event to coincide with the Diablo III launch.
