Dec 16th 2010 7:50PM Golden filled circle with light streaming upward = Holy Priest's Holy Word: Sanctuary (area heal over time)
Green filled circle with leaves floating upward = Resto Druid's...I forget the name. But it's the same as HW: Sanctuary. Similar looking except green and more leafy than holy.
Less visible blueish sparkley filled circle with rain coming down from above = Shaman's Healing Rain (any spec), again, area heal over time.
Not sure what the Paladin version looks like, but I believe it's always centered on the casting Paladin.
Also, golden transparent dome = Power Word: Barrier (damage reduction while within; Disc priest endcap talent)
There's also the Ele shaman's Earthquake and the Mage's Ring of Frost which are relatively new, and could be mistaken for 'things to not stand in'.
Dec 15th 2010 7:47AM You...you mean I can't get a worgen mount? I've been lied to!
Dec 15th 2010 7:24AM I used to think the same way. I was careful with my emails and passwords, made sure to change them periodically, ran regular virus and malware sweeps, didn't click on links in emails, barely visited any WoW sites at all.
Account got compromised. (My guess? Brute strength password cracker. My folly was thinking that they couldn't crack passwords with non-alphanumeric characters. Friend who works in network security told me afterwards that yes, they can crack those now.)
Everything that wasn't tier loot was vendored or moved off the account. Worse, the storage guild banks of my close friends had been completely emptied, to my horror.
Thankfully Blizz was excellent with the recovery process, but I didn't reactivate my account till I got an authenticator. Having an extra 6.50 (no shipping fee within the US) tacked on to my regular WoW fee, annoying. But the peace of mind is so nice.
But in this day and age, WoW is so high profile that we're all high priority (and high profit) targets. It sucks, but the ones at fault are the account thieves.
It can happen to anyone. No matter how careful or skilled you are. Anyone. (Authenticators aren't perfect either, but they're far more difficult to bypass)
Dec 15th 2010 7:05AM It's like this for all flyers. Just alot more noticible for some. (especially mounts with more exaggerated tail animations or trail effects, such as flying machines, nether drakes, drakes, and the like, where it's basically coming directly at your center of vision.)
It's been like this for a long time now. (The patch that added ICC, I think, possibly earlier). Using my mage's drake or my DK's flying machine for long periods results in severe annoyance since I have to manually readjust the camera each time I change my heading/pitch. (No ingame options fixes this, a GM I contacted said there's nothing that can be done. Sigh.)
Ah well. Thank goodness for having multiple mounts at least.
Dec 8th 2010 4:45PM Contest entry submitted. Good luck everyone!
Nov 23rd 2010 8:41AM Forget keys, I just realized I left my pants in one of the portals! My tram pass was in there!
...And the servers are down. Great. I hope you're happy, Blizzard. Enjoy your discounted rides on Sundays.
Nov 10th 2010 5:01PM Personally I like this. This means that there are the new light columns AND engineer flares instead of 'free engineer flares for every raid, invalidating existing flares'. So you can still use flares (which anyone can use, no profession requirement and they are cheap to make) for when you want ultra precision, and use columns when you want ultra visibility.
I see this as increasing the options for raid leaders, not reducing.
Jul 3rd 2010 2:35PM This is exactly why I don't use -any- 'social networking' things. Or online journals/blogs.
If I had something interesting to share with the world (like blogs about language history or programming or whatnot), yeah, I might have a blog. But I'll keep my personal life, well, personal. My friends and family know the personal stuff, and that's it.
But, that's just me.
Jul 3rd 2010 2:06PM Aw, c'mon guys, just because it's there doesn't mean you have to vote for it. That's rather sadistic. :(
I for one voted for To all the Squirrels I've Loved Before/Pest Control, because it's a long achievement, but fun! And not sanity-degrading.
Also I voted for Sandwichdoc (great name btw, sandwiches are awesome.) to level resto...that's what I did for my shaman before I had heirlooms or the dungeon finder. Not that it was uh, mind-numbing or anything. -Cough- At least you won't ever die! =D
Jul 2nd 2010 4:25PM I can picture Rend just looking totally uncomfortable and speechless. And he probably has something to do. Over there. Somewhere else.
