Officers' Quarters: Scorched by raider burnout {WoW}

Oct 26th 2010 6:33AM It sounds to me like what the OP said -- A very casual guild, where the GL never really wanted to have to "Lead" a "Guild" but just help loosely corrall a bunch of friends and create an in-game forum for people to stay in contact and work together. Much the same as creating a special channel would do -- /join FriendsofMyTown --

Issues are many:

1: Established goals not laid out for incoming members.
A) It is easy to say you are a casual guild, but in a climate where many pugs are successfully clearing far beyond where this guild said they were getting to, that could be strange.

B) If this person was in a 'serious progression guild', why did he choose to step back to a guild that had absolutely zero progression? It doesn't really make sense to me, except that I imagine he was happy to find a place where he was sort of king-of-the-pile and had seen more, and done more, than anyone and was able to take the attitude he wasn't able to progress with in his prior guild, into another less-experienced guild. And that didn't fly with some people, who didn't like his insistent holier-than-thou attitude or his stepping over people they understood and appreciated as raid leaders/cohorts, regardless of levels of progression.

2. Guild leader not active. Some people laid it on the guild leader for not being more pro-active and I would whole-heartedly agree, except for the fact that nothing about this 2/12 ICC guild makes me think this guild leader wanted to be a leader of, or a part of that kind of guild in the first place.

A) For this issue to come to the fore now, it seems a bit after the fact. Nobody in this guild was really concerned with not getting bosses down prior to now, but someone came in and made the atmosphere uncomfortable.

B) OR people were already frustrated with the lack of progression with their friends and family, and sought out something else for cata.
