Jul 11th 2011 9:11PM I have all of cro's line macro'd and spam them everytime i walk past the fruit vendors of various cities like org or Dal, also when people nerdrage in BGS :)
Nov 30th 2010 5:31PM @Pamoya
once again, people make random claims that they think sound good, but have no bassis in reality
Any company with an acounting department worth its salt, makes mass donations yearly to offset tax. Now blizz would have made a charity donation to offset their income tax regardless of if the pet was for sale or not, they just get to advertise it now.
Giving away money to charity for the purpose of off-setting tax is in the best interest of the shareholders, thus your point is invalid
I would describe this as Win + Win + Lose
Blizz gets tax offsets and good publicity + only has to give away 25% of 48hrs worth of pets ales
Charity gets some money
Players pay for a pet
PS i'm not angry at them for being pure or not, i'm angry and all the blizz lovers who seem to be aplauding them for somthing they would have done anyways.
Its like going to work, doing what you get paid to do, and then wanting everyone to tell you how great you are for doing it.
I understand people are happy about the charity aspect, but blizzard would have donated a sizeable amount of money to charity anyway for tax reasons.
so, that leaves us with one logical conclusion, they only tied it into the pet sale for the image it would provide pet sales.
Nov 29th 2010 11:08PM i dont get it, you might not like what Jack says but he has neither QQ'd nor flamed, nor ttrolled, nor first'd.....since when do people downvote for not holding a popular opinion?
as far as i can see, the OP was downvoted for succesfully having a different opinion.
I agree, that vanity pet/mount stores are bad. We have now shown blizzard they don't need to give us these little perks now. Why should they when we will happily shell out 10 bucks a pop.
I agree that if charity was the actually purpose (and not some excuse to calm the player base) of these pets you or blizzard should just send make a wish a check for XXX amount of dollars and be done with it. They way Blizzard is doing this shows Charity is not its motivation.
As far as i can see, the OP made some very valid, if cynical, points and was downvoted?
The pets are cute, i'd like one, but will i pay for one? no.
There are those that will say i already AM paying for in game content.
Let me put it this way:
If you have membership to a gym, and oay a monthly fee, where they maintain the equipment, get new gym equipment, provide gym towels and showers, training advice etc...
And then they come out with their own clothing and accessories line.......
there are those who would say "but you already pay for the gym monthly, why not buy some clothing, or a gym bag. Its pretty, and doesn't give anyone who has our stuff an advanatage at the gym. its just optional."
I would say:
Thats not what i pay for, i pay a monthly fee for everything to be all inclusive. I'm not against the gym selling their own cstuff, and i'm not against people buying the gynms brand.
But do i think its a douche of a move for the gym that used have EVERYTHING be all inclusive, start trying to sell stuff to people who are already members? YES Douche of a move.
But if poeple are happy, and them gym is happy go for it. Will i pay for any of these vanity extras? no.
If you want to go and buy a pet from the blizz store i'm cool with that.
Nov 28th 2010 11:44PM I had somone in trade chat say they had thought of great name, but diddn't want to make a Cow, so somone should use it. I heard the name, laughed and imediatly created my new Tauren Prot Pally
Nov 12th 2010 12:28AM Even though i have a skinner, and very much do as you suggest regardless most of the time.
Really to me this is a case of your saying "I don't like people who wont play the game the way i want them to". Its not realistic to expect people to loot things so you can skin. I don't like people
Its nice when they do, and shows they are a considerate person, but theyhave no obligation to acomidate you nor should they
I too wish more people would loot, but i can tell you for example, that just because i'm lasy all my toons are skiner/miner... miner/herb....herb/skinner etc...
But my tank? almost never loots anything anymore, i almost run with my own healer from my guild, we need nothing from a heroic except JP, and we will keep chain pulling regardless of if the DPS is paying attention, cause we find it more challenging to pull bigger grps at this point in the content i doubt we actually need dps except on like HoR. So do i stop playing the way i enjoy playing to because i making a skiner miss about 2-3gold worth of skins? not me.
Nov 11th 2010 9:12PM I would flat out quit...
i'm not debating if it would profitable for blizzard....thats not was asked....
I'm not arguing that if it would be good or bad for sub numbers....once again..not what was asked...
Do i personaly enjoy or want to participate in a free to play model game? no.
Calling these games free to play, "to me" , seems about as valid as those you are our 1 millionth customer banners over the internet...
I would not call that model free to play, and i would prefer to pay a blanket cost and have all things available, than have to pay drips and drabs as i want content...
"To me" (and i keep saying it like that because its just an opinion) its the antethema of what a videogame is about.
Its like buying the lord of thr rings book....getting up to chapter 5 and then having the book say insert money to keep reading! (where as Part 2 & 3 would be the expansions)
Who wants that? It removes an element of immersion to me, and i just don't like the model....tbh i would just load up oblivion and mod it like crazy and be quite content with my fantasy fix untill a new game i liked came out
Nov 10th 2010 8:52PM ""Hey guys, look: I really like you and I think you're nice. Come over for a party at my place; theme is high tea!" and the night elves said, "Aw, we really like you too! Don't mind if we do; we'll dress all fancy and be proper -- what fun!" But the eventual high elves replied with, "Your house sucks; tea sucks; you suck, too. Frankly, we'd rather be snorting huge quantities of this giant pile of cocaine right here than waste our time with you." Then they gave her the middle finger and spat on her feet.
Then they unsuccessfully tried to set her house on fire. When this didn't work, they hopped in their hot rods and took off, music blaring and tires squealing as their fancy hair waved in the wind. "
People at work were wondering why the weird guy in the corner cubicle just cracked up laughing....
Nov 8th 2010 12:00AM Oh yea man, cause i rolled holy to DPS...........
It actually makes me want to let my holy priest collect dust for cata....mabye jump on my shaman...
Holy has been my main for about 80% of wrath, and i don't like some of the new changes...
I think i remember a blue post saying you would only "want" to dps when you outgear content or bored due to lack of healing.....thats cool.
What i don't like is it seems reports indicate you "need" too smite or you will OOM and it seems they're balancing our mana efficiancy assuming its mandatory.
I don't mind that they gave Uber/outgearing content healers some DPS options
What i don't like is that it seems almost that you MUST dps now as a healer...that i dont like.
and after that, they're basicly shoving Lightwell down our mouths. Pretty much every holy priest under the sunn used to skip lightwell, there was huge post in the forums where the maority of players gave support to a TOC5 style lightwell like you get in the mobs b4 paletress. but blizz basicly said "yes we hear you, we understand thats what you think would work, but no."
Dont get me wrong i love the new chackra, i like the new 3 heal model, i like pretty much all the changes except those two, but forcing healers to dps to stay mana efficient sux, and forcing us to use un re-designed lightwell sux.
Oct 17th 2010 9:50PM My impressions as 251/264 geared holy priest at 80..
I have (and i promise this is true, go try it!) now tanked 5 Heroics using nothing but bubble PoM and Nova --->
bubble tank -> throw a PoM on him -> run in with the tank at same time, and nova spam while running in circles........
This will work on all dungeons except for HoR i would imagine, it worked fine in PoS. My mana never dipped below 93%................
To me although we have lots of new great spells, it seems you dont need any of the new stuff for current content (unless raiding) , and i was out dps'sing the poor warrior who showed up to our CoS run in blues and ilvl 200-219's
you would never have gotten away with this pre-patch....
Sep 27th 2010 12:12AM They do what they must.....because they can.......
For the good of all of us. Except the ones that are mages....
