Aug 22nd 2010 10:37PM Good points all around. I have days where I wish I had stayed in EVE after EnB was sunset. I still think there was something behind the whole shutdown of EnB and WoW launching.
All the same default controls is what made WoW stick for me because all of the buttons were naturally already stuck in my head. I play at work sometimes and if I forget my mouse at home and have to use the normal one I have there, I cannot perform the same. If its something like VoA you can pull it off but I would go into RS thinking i can pull the same performance.
Aug 22nd 2010 10:30PM Yea I can see that. My view is from a 33 year old guy that still misses Earth and Beyond. There are those guilds like you mentioned. I have even been apart of them and was there long enough that when I stepped down I was GM. I don't know, there are so many aspects to consider. I am currently putting my opinion out there as a person that will raid 3 nights a week max. That's a long way from 5, but at some point you have to put games in a different spot on the priority list of life.
Aug 22nd 2010 9:46PM I had not given it much thought but after reading the article can see exactly what you are talking about. I still have friends that I talk to via phone and txt from vanilla and TBC but only one from Northrend. That one got into beta so I never see him ingame. Beta testing has destroyed guilds both times. Now I run around ingame with nothing to do but make gold. It doesnt look like anyone is giving much effort to the newest content because core member are in beta land. And like most people, I would rather not raid than PuG something that requires me to find people that have the gear and can play that gear.
Jun 29th 2010 7:41PM IDK how I feel about it. I am one of those that is still sitting out when I could be trying to down a world first. As the flames roll in do you think they would do this to certain guilds that had a chance at downing it. There are guilds on my server with full squads in 277 gear. 25 and 10 man. I would think they might have a shot if their realm was up.
Mar 27th 2010 6:26PM I use a couple of addons including auctioneer. Before I go on, To Hill, who commented above me. There are ways young Jedi. But you must use the force. I make a killing off it.
Anyway, I have had a lot of people bring me gems and say, just cut w/e sells the best and for the most. I just doesn't work like that.
Another thing for people to watch for is market saturation. I have a few toons to work with that all have different professions. For a fast example: If a widget requires ItemA, itemB ,and itemC to make it. I will usually sell some widgets, and if the prices are right at the time will also sell items A's B's C's that are used to make it. Most people get huffy at this point and say "just hold on to the mats and make more widgets later". In my mind that's a waste.
Use the addons to keep track of prices, If you do a search for a meta gem cut that only has one or two auctions for 300g each. You can put up some for 299g if you want but there is no way I would. My addons help keep track of normal costs. So, I put up 6 @ 77g77s. All mine sell within 1-2 hours. The 300g and 299g lost the deposit. the AH is very a basic supply and demand market,
Even with that said, there are times to go real high. But it has to be something that player can't easily find in trade chat. Old world stuff, etc Briarthorn has been selling at 40-50g/stk for months now.
Nov 25th 2009 12:14PM Sound like good fun. TBH though, that mount in the pictures isn't anywhere near small enough to be funny.
Sep 13th 2009 4:37PM Couldn't have said it better. Your comment made me think of what game has turned into.
The one thing that continues to grow with warcraft are players that I consider a$$hats. It is so rare these days to meet people in game that actually you can stand to play with. Years ago I met a few people every week that would say "hey" or "hows it going". My ignore list had only a few people on it. These days I can't even add people to my ignore list without deleted a precious ignore.
Sep 13th 2009 4:20PM I wouldn't mind paying by the hour if the rate is that low. Although rare, I have played a few 40 hours weeks. Even if I did that every week, which I know I wont, that's only a little under $3. I would be able to have all 4 accounts up for ~$12/month. Count me in.
Sep 13th 2009 4:06PM It is amazing how easy it is to gear these days. I remember the days when if you had all blues, you were geared.
