Sins of a Solar Empire for $4; Mass Effect and Dragon Age bundles part of Impulse sale {Joystiq}

May 30th 2010 3:32AM Would be a great deal, but you have to buy it from Impulse. Their client is terrible and unstable.

NIU professor teaches engineering through video games {Joystiq}

Apr 12th 2010 12:05AM I went there like 10+ years ago. Too bad they didn't teach using video games back then. gains Activision games {Joystiq}

Jan 28th 2010 10:44AM I wouldn't mind Telltale being allowed to make a new Gabriel Knight series.

Ice block also means the mage is not moving or doing anything. If you want CloS to be 100% no damage, but the rogue can't move or perform any action except remove the cloak, then fine. Have fun.

Mar 25th 2009 3:12PM Ice barrier can be dispelled. Ice block and pally bubble can be mass dispelled or shattered in 3.1. If CloS was 100%, they would need to introduce some kind of counter to actually balance it.

Blizzard's Wrath talents updated {WoW}

Jul 25th 2008 12:16PM "As for the specific changes, I know quite a few of my mage friends were drooling over the original Netherwind presence and are now going to be crying in their milk this morning."

No, no, no. The new Netherwind Presence is a buff.

Please consider what spells an arcane mage will be casting. You don't go that far into the tree to spam either fireball, frostbolt, or frostfire bolt in the hopes of getting one with an instant cast.

So you have arcane missiles, arcane blast, and arcane barrage (maybe frostbolt if you are weaving them in with an arcane/frost AB-spam build). Arcane missiles before did not get any benefit. Arcane barrage is already an instant cast. That leaves arcane blast, which would go from a 1.5 second cast to an instant cast with a 1.5 second GCD (before any spell haste). You could get an instant cast fireball or frostbolt (with a 1.5 second GCD) every so often if you procced it off an arcane missile or arcane barrage cast, but if you are arcane blast spamming, the procs could easily be consumed by an arcane blast, giving you no benefit.

With the current changes, arcane missiles now benefits from it, while arcane blast will be cast below the GCD, which is affected by spell haste itself. Add to it that it is a tier higher, and this is clearly a buff.

Missile barrage looks to be a good replacement. It could be made better if arcane blast could also trigger it.

Jul 25th 2008 11:40AM Please tell me you are kidding. 6% passive haste is much better than the procced instacasts the talent used to have based on spell rotations an arcane mage would use, and at a tier higher.

The drums of progress {WoW}

Apr 11th 2008 6:06PM Btw, I'm wearing some haste which is why my AB drops below the GCD.

The drums of progress {WoW}

Apr 11th 2008 2:44PM Have also seen reports of stacking mage groups to AB spam throughout the fight with 3 mages, 1 elemental shaman, and 1 shadow priest, frostbolting during heroism since it drops AB below the 1 sec GCD cap. Rotating through Drums of Restoration, the group can generate 3000 mana over 75 seconds (200 mp5) every 2 minutes.

Build Shop: Mage 10/47/3 {WoW}

Jan 8th 2008 1:37PM No, the new build is 2/47/11+1.
