May 22nd 2011 8:42PM To the sufficiently imaginative, "huge brown sack" already covered the purposes of trade chat folly.
Though I may rue the day when I try to get my nuts out when my willy is already out... I've already had endless hours of fun engorging my willy on papa hummel's pet biscuits.
I'll stop now: according to warcraft pets there are 198 pets currently in game, 42 of which are available as promotional and 8 from the store I think. If you've gotten over 150 without purchasing any from the store you're probably overlooking the core hound pup, mini thor or 'lil Deathy... Not to mention the pets you got as a reward for logging in over a very short period, such as the penguin or the ony whelpling, nor holiday pets available over a similar short period that require at least some degree of attention. Lets hope that Blizzard adopts google's maxim of "don't be evil" and makes this achievement be attainable without resorting to the cash shop.
May 22nd 2011 8:25PM Cambro, you were the first person to bring up "China", everyone else inferred that he was referring to "Asians".
Besides, there's nothing wrong with questioning people's stereotypes. It's consciousness raising, as Dawkins puts it.
If you've never reflected on the gender paygap, domestic abuse, institutional racism or the fact that there are countries in the world where 13 year olds have been stoned to death for the crime of being raped, then the consciousness raising has failed.
May 22nd 2011 5:27PM I don't think that researchers actually studied the phenomenon of perception of word order. I remember it was reported in either the Times of London or the London Metro in the Cosmos section, but I don't think any one study conclusively demonstrated it. The ability to reconstruct words by rearranging morphemes into phonemes has been about as long as written language I'd say. More info: http://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/people/matt.davis/Cmabrigde/
As for the existence of hell: there isn't any emphasis on the afterlife in the Torah as far as I'm aware and many Jews to this day do not believe in the personality surviving death. "Sheol" has been used to refer to the Jewish aggregate afterlife (like Hades) But Jesus definitely refers to the place with the wailing and gnashing of teeth along with the exalted abode at the right hand of his father. Not to mention that hell is described at length in the Quran several hundred years before Dante and that some of the modern concepts attributed to hell are derived from Aquinas who said that the great thing about heaven is that you can peer on the torment of the damned below, if I attribute correctly.
Since Catholic teaching focused on guilt, sin and the likelihood of damnation for dying in a state of sin (not confessing) when Protestants threw off the associated shackles, getting rid of plenary confessions and the like, they appear to be proselytising against the very concept of hell too.
May 22nd 2011 5:03PM Ever thought about adding a censor? Kinda like that character that causes all your text to be dropped after it, I really
May 6th 2011 8:30PM Friend of mine in my politics class randomly started talking about video games and I found out he both played WoW and TF2 on the same server as I do.
Two of my friends at university also play WoW, funnily enough.
May 5th 2011 11:01AM That was the first thing I thought: 2pc shadow (the pieces with spirit most likely) and 2 or 3pc holy. That extra regen is nothing to sneeze at, with a 2m 45s cooldown with veiled shadows you could use it 3 times on certain bosses.
That said I doubt I'll get my hands on any piece unless I get lucky with the new BH boss.
May 5th 2011 12:22AM I wonder if they'll remove the pets gained by the lucky people who had the children's week quest reset due to maintenance.
and if the innkeeper's daughter will stop interrupting flag caps.
May 4th 2011 5:52PM Scarab Lord's prestige is somewhat marred by the fact that it was briefly possible to start a new character on a server and there'd be about 100 scarab lords, including scarab lord DKs.
From the top of my head, Bloodthirsty, Hero of the Faction, Vicious Gladiator, The Insane, Justicar, Dragonslayer and Salty all spring to mind. Justicar alone may be more difficult than battlemaster since you need 1000 caps (333.3~ repeating perfect games) as human to get exalted with silverwing sentinels alone, whereas several of the battlemaster achievements you get on the way to veteran. Salty is very RNG dependent for one that didn't get away, which took me over 12000 fish fished or 67 hours of fishing. The competition also took 10 or more tries to win and I only got it because I disappeared on Christmas because I correctly assumed no-one would be on. My first arch achieve was on the 9th of January and I got professon on the 3rd of March...
In comparison I got "Avast ye admiral" on August 31st 2009 and "The Insane" on the first of May.
there's a complete list
