The Isle of Conquest and Season 7 {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 5:40PM To me the fun of WG is that it is not instanced and not shared over the battlegroup. Fighting with and against people you know from your own server is what is fun, instead unknowns from other servers. Plus WG feels like it actually matters. Getting the guildies to get there and join in together is much of the fun too. yes I know you can make premades, but it isn't the same thing.

The Isle of Conquest and Season 7 {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 5:35PM "rapid" development you call it huh?

One new full blown raid instance (Ulduar) in the entire WotLK, plus three minor ones (OS, VoA, EoE) and one recycled vanilla instance (Naxx).

TBC was 7 full blown raid instances plus 2 minor ones.

WHEN are we getting some more EPIC content other than "hey let's just create one arena and then toss in all the 5, 10, 25-man in there and recuycle the bosses and throw in some hard modes, that gives like ... I dunno... tons of raids at the price of less than one! Woot, more money saved and the stupid players won't notice anything!".

Patch 3.2 details released {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 5:28PM Yet another move to save $ at Blizz HQ.

Creating large raid instances is costly. Blizz apparently cannot afford it anymore (beats me why - with more subscribers than ever you'd think they could afford what they could afford back in vanilla/TBC).

So they are going to have us fight a whole bunch of bosses in the exact same arena, recycling graphical assests more efficiently than ever before.

I'm sure there is much rejoicing in the accountants department.

Amongst us players? Not so much rejoicing. Not much at all. This sounds utterly and incredibly boring.

In TBC they added 7 fresh, atmospheric and innovative full raid instances, (Kara, ZA, SSC, TK, MH, BT, Sunwell). Plus 2 minor ones (Gruul, Mag).

In WotLK they have so far only managed to add one (ONE!) new full blown raid instance (since Naxx was just old recycled, slightly retuned content), plus 3 minor ones. Looks like we'll eventually only get TWO full raid instances over the whole WotLK cycle - Ulduar and Icecrown, plus another minor one (Argent Sandbox).

If that isn't lame I don't know what is.

Start getting cheap with the game is the first step downhill to WoW. Their new game must be close because they are clearly drastically cutting down their investment in WoW.
