Dec 27th 2010 8:56PM We just got Critter Kill Squad today for my (alliance) guild. We had around 35,000 kills already so we got a group of 5 and went to the tram. Took us about 45 minutes to an hour to get the other 15,000.
We had 5 people farming spots so every rat was dead just about as soon as they spawned. 1 person on each platform of the tram and two in the tracks to get the few that spawn there. We also used two balance druids using a macro to make it go even faster. With the lunar shower talent, balance druids can just spam the macro with moonfire and end up using no mana as long as they keep moving to keep their stacks up. Any class with a relatively inexpensive ability could use the macro as well.
/tar [nodead] Deeprun Rat (or other critter)
/cast Moonfire (or other ability)

Like I said, MOST people believe their use of the Light comes from some deity. Draenei from the Naaru, Tauren from the Sun, etc. But the ability to tap into and use the Light can be explained on a more personal basis rather than your worship of any certain god(s). That is why the Light can be described as "willed into use" a lot of times.
I'm working my way through the books, but I haven't gotten to read Arthas yet. But the way the Light is described, it still works the same way. Arthas' loss of the light is from his own personal issues, not because the Light is abandoning him. In the dire situation you quoted, he can still use the Light if he wills it, even though he's now actively seeking the power of Frostmourne.
The same thing happened to the Blood Elf priests during Arthas' attack on Silvermoon. (I think a recent WoW.com podcast talked about this, too.) They thought the Light had abandoned them because they weren't able to stop the hordes of undead ravaging their city. But the Light never abandons you. YOU abandon the Light. It depends more upon your own personal willpower than your belief. Though, belief may help you believe in yourself more, and aid you in using the Light. It's still up to you.
Aug 30th 2010 8:42AM Well... technically the Light may be the closest thing Azeroth has to atheism. The ability to use the light doesn't necessarily come from any specific god(s), but rather from a philosophical belief.
Though, on the other hand, most people believe that the Light itself comes from a specific godly being. You just aren't required to believe in or worship one in order to use it, I think. And just because users of the Light don't officially worship a god doesn't mean they don't believe in one.
Personally, I think that Azeroth does leave room for atheism, just like in the real world. But with the amount of death and destruction that goes on so often in Azeroth, they might be a bit hard to find.

Apr 23rd 2010 8:46AM I leveled a horde character to 80, paying close attention to the quests and the lore. Now I want to go back and get loremaster on her and take lots of screenshots along the way.
I also want to get a lot of the old reputations to exalted on my alliance main, but that would take a lot more motivation than I have right now.
