The Care and Feeding of Warriors: I cannot see the future Page 2 {WoW}

Mar 12th 2010 3:35PM And this is why I love Rossi.

He pretty much sums up everything I love about the warrior with how he talks about them and genuinely has good, albeit radical, ideas for making the warrior more dynamic. I love these ideas and i would crit my pants to see some changes of this kind of caliber make it into Cata.

I totally agree that the warrior mechanics are a bit antiquated at this point and the time for drastic changes is now. The dated game that we play, as much as we love it, will cease to be and now is as good a time as ever to shake things up and widen that divide between specs.

One thing that i thought of when reading this is what if arms was more like the warlord class from lineage II? They have an inherent chance to hit multiple targets with a polearm simply by attacking. As much as I hate the idea of poaching ideas from a terrible NCsoft game, the idea is intriquing. The precision and almost dance-like swaths an arms warrior could create with his/her weapon swings is just something that plays out in my head.

Fury is doing pretty good, but I think it could be a little more focused on the 'screaming barbarian' bit. Don't get me wrong, its nice to do 19k dps on trash packs in ICC, but only having three attacks to use (and one of those attacks is mashing the everliving crap out of heroic strike/cleve), when the overall toolkit of a warrior is so vast, is a little disappointing. Granted the t10 4p set bonus makes your rotation a little more dynamic and fun, I personally would like to see that expanded upon. I was really sad when the shouts got overridden by other buffs so that was one less thing I could do.

Bah. I've ranted enough. Look what you make me do Rossi!

WoW Insider Show Episode 132: The Chest Hair Insider Show {WoW}

Mar 8th 2010 5:59PM Beat me to it! First thing i noticed was the nice new header. Small detail overall, but nice touch nonetheless.

Great show guys, I look forward to every episode. And being a warrior myself I love that Rossi is on the show all the time now.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: On Future Tanking, Page 2 {WoW}

Mar 5th 2010 3:37PM As much as the AOE fest is a bit overdone, the extreme opposite of that would end up being Magister's Terrace all over again. I'm sorry, but I do not miss those days. The days where a dps warrior couldn't get a group to save their life because they don't have any type of CC really sucked.

Breakfast Topic: What won't you do? {WoW}

Mar 5th 2010 1:12PM But if you boil it down to its essentials, it's still "KRUG SMASH PUNY THING NOW". Be it with a car door or a tree trunk.

(I play warrior and love it. Screaming berserker in the woad and whatnot)

The case for open orders on the auction house {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2010 7:59PM OMG this this this! I was just saying to my wife the other day in fact (in response to the AH changes) that it would be so wonderful for blizz to implement something similar (or hell, exactly alike) EVE Online's economy. The ability to put up a buy order for a specific item and how much you're willing to pay for it would be amazing for all sorts of reasons.

One example is I've been camping the AH for god knows how long trying to get a hold of a certain robe for looks. Being is a level 50-ish green, it's a total shot in the dark that anyone would want to sell it rather than disenchant it especially depending on if it dropped with a crappy enchant on it like 'of the wolf'. A buy order system would be a god send.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Fury 101, Page 2 {WoW}

Feb 5th 2010 4:15PM Any moderately serious raiding warrior should already be doing his/her research on EJ and the like, finding ways to be a better face smasher and should know about it by now :P

But all the same, here it is:
http://elitistjerks.com/f81/t37462-warrior_dps_calculation_spreadsheet/

Hands down the best tool to find out what you should be aiming for, and for you gearheads, how to tweak your gems and gear to fine tune the best possible dps. Also note that the difference between warriors and other melee dps classes; expertise is paramount to any other stat (besides hit, but thats easy nowadays) to be capped out on. As Rossi said, its better to be over than to be short even by one point.

In-game fixes for February 3rd {WoW}

Feb 4th 2010 12:26AM We found two things:

-If you were using the strat of having your range stack on each other in 2's to minimize blood nova runic power, and since shields dont block it anymore, this strat doesnt work. Everyone at range needs to be spread out, making real estate for where to stand much tighter

-Boiling blood splashes (or was bugged, who knows) so any melee that got it would run out to the doorway and stay 11m apart. After we changed these two things about our strat we downed him just fine.

The Queue: Again and again {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2010 7:48PM @ToyChristopher
Actually I believe that the terrain phasing is playing a large part in the starting zones for the goblins and worgen since they take place before and during the cataclysm happening whereas the rest of the world (and subsequently the players at 80) will awaken tues morning to the world being destroyed :P Though, I doubt the latter will happen that way. My speculation is that the terrain phasing of zones falling apart, to some degree at least, will begin to happen with the upcoming world event that Stockton mentioned.

tl;dr
worgen and goblin starting zones get heavy phasing like the deathknight area, the rest of the world is changed for good all at once.
