Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite WoW encounter? {WoW}
Mar 13th 2011 5:05PM I don't know if I would go with Prince, but I would have to say Curator from Kara is my favorite. There is just something about your first raid encounter that sticks with ya. There have been some really amazing fights since then, but Curator will always hold a special spot for me.
Scattered Shots: Hunting Halfus, Valiona, and Theralion {WoW}
Feb 10th 2011 4:29PM I have gotten them off both before and after 4.0.6. You need to a) have really low latency or b) know you latency really well to be able to know when to time it, but it has always been possible to get them off between furious roars.
Scattered Shots: Hunting Halfus, Valiona, and Theralion {WoW}
Feb 10th 2011 4:25PM Yes, hunters can get it, and if you happen to get lucky with a Rapid fire, you can start pounding out full cast Aimed shots, while still maintaining your Chimaeras and ISS buff, and crit for 100k+. First one I saw was a 117k crit, and I was astonished.
Scattered Shots: Hunting Magmaw and Omnotron {WoW}
Jan 31st 2011 5:08PM From what I understand, and I have seen it happen, the Pillar of Flame only has an enjoyment for ranged, not a forced mechanism. My guild has attempted this method and it never worked, because some one in melee range always got hit by the pillar. We found it easier to teach people to watch where they stand and get ready to move as soon as the circle appears. Raid Awareness is much more important this time around and being able to use an early encounter like Magmaw for training purposes is always nice.
Breakfast Topic: Does world PvP feel dishonorable? {WoW}
Nov 6th 2010 10:48AM I know that when I do happen to come across a little red blip on my mini-map I am probably one of the first to jump on it. I feel it is retribution to all of the times I was ganked by a max lvl character while I lvled, and I know that when that person reaches max lvl, they will do the same thing. I don't think world PvP is broken, I think it follows the same cycle, while you lvl you get ganked by max lvl toons, but then you return the favor when you hit max lvl. I do agree with you though that camping a toon that is half your level should have some consequences, but I do believe that is where friends, and guilds, comes in. This in itself should be a reason for people to find a decent guild and make some game friends, if they don't already have some. Once you hit max level though, I feel that all is fair in love and war. I recall a time I was doing dailies for Sons of Hodir, back when you actually had to do the dailies to get to exalted rep. I was questing with a friend of mine, we are both horde, she happened to be a healer. There were a bunch of other Horde characters there, as well as an abundance of Alliance characters there. All was fine and good, until I saw the bright light of oppurtunity shining beneath the door, and decided to attack an alliance. Needless to say, the 2 hours of 30 on 30 or so World PvP in the little chasm to the west of Sons of Hodir had to be some of the best world PvP I have ever been in. No raid groups, no real communication, you just attacked, or healed anyone you saw, while the NPC wolves, snakes, and mammoths are running rampant attacking everything in sight.
Possible hidden mechanics behind Lock and Load {WoW}
May 29th 2009 3:20PM I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but has anyone else tried trap-dancing lately...? I have noticed lately while running lowbie instances on my hunter, that if you drop an explosive trap, it still procs lock and load. While this may just be lowbie instances, tonight in Naxx, i'll give it a shot, and get back on what I find out. I know according to Blizz, LnL was not supposed to proc off explosive trap, but maybe they screwed up, as Blizz is prone to doing.
