Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer puts the galaxy at stake {Joystiq}

Believe me, I feel the same way. The difficulty is, as with any medium now days, is that it's difficult to come up with 'original' ideas. Yeah, there's some great games, but they're all based on previous structures for a video game. CoD: BO, BadCo 2, WoW, Rift, they're all basically the same, just slight variations here and there.

It's hard for a company to justify spending 300+ Million on a reinvention of the wheel, when the wheels are still selling literal shit tons. Brings back the old adage, you vote with your wallet, and right now, everyone (contrary to many beliefs held by people on this site) seems to want rehashed old games (See: Black Ops 'Highest grossing game ever').

And then you get games like Mirrors Edge, which, while not completely and utterly revolutionary, still changed the way FPS's should behave. Yet we'll probably never see a second one (much to my own personal chagrin).

There's never really been an incentive to move in combat in an MMO, in PvP anyway. In PvE there's stuff you have to move around (Don't Stand in the Fire), but there's no gain to moving/casting at the same time.

Hunters can actually shoot while moving in WoW now, and there are certain high level abilities that open up mobility.

But yeh, I see what the original poster said, DCUO (for me, anyway) has been the only truly different combat MMO. There's just not enough in that game right now to justify the $15 a month.

Anyway, I'll still pick up TOR, if only because it's Star wars, and a bunch of my friends are also going to go play it.

Soon, you too will learn to hate the LFD tool, and the idiots it brings at higher levels.

Oh well, that's what having a guild is for :)

Encrypted Text: One last look at the rogue of Azeroth past {WoW}

Nov 24th 2010 6:33PM I really need to proof read my things.

Meant to say I had to make a macro to dismiss the buff...

Encrypted Text: One last look at the rogue of Azeroth past {WoW}

Nov 24th 2010 6:31PM I had to dismiss the buff, since I'm using a custom UI. But I don't mind, especially when I was on my Mammoth and someone did it. I laughed for a good 10 minutes.

I want to make sweet love to your face.

That came out wrong.

So did that.

I'll stop.

Blizzard: Never mind, you can race change to new race/class combos immediately after all {WoW}

Nov 22nd 2010 9:40PM I feel like people confuse Installed with Registered. The WoW client is one continuous client nowdays. Even if you bought just the original WoW discs, you'd have the content for pretty much all the expansions. You just can't actually access them...

So they, in theory, could activate flying for 4.0.3a, but that would take away a bullet point on the back of the box...

Oct 11th 2010 9:39PM Hey, I hate to derail a post, but I'm hoping to not get lost in the sea of comments...

Anybody know if there's a way to check how much has been downloaded? For some reason background downloader isn't starting, so I don't know if it's done, or if it's just being weird.

Thanks in advance!
