May 11th 2010 5:53AM Standing rule for the emo lock: any time he passes a graveyard, suicide. Lifetap, Hellfire, whatever.
I would say more often, but I can't wish too many corpse runs on the archmage.
May 11th 2010 5:50AM At the very least there should be a standing rule: Any time the emo lock passes a graveyard, he has to kill himself. I would say more often, but I'd hate to make the archmage waste too much time on GY runs.
Apr 20th 2010 1:23AM Nah, priest... 'locks should get meta form flight, pallies should be able to use those gay angel wings, and priests should have Levitate turned into a one-size-fits-all Fly spell. Of course, then mages will want to teleport to wherever on the map they click.
I'm okay with that. Meta form flight!!!
Apr 14th 2010 3:04AM Nah... they'd introduce Hobbs and Belt, and we'd be treated to an hour of progressively more furious breathing.
Apr 14th 2010 1:45AM He also missed something about how every lock is a masochist and so desperate for girls that they have to lure evil mistresses from another dimension with promises to submit to regular beatings and abuse, but... y'know... even mages can't be perfect 100% of the time.
Apr 14th 2010 1:43AM You are so right... there can be no argument.
Arcane Brilliance remains the superior column.
Apr 4th 2010 3:49AM I'm going to go with...
Mar 26th 2010 2:57AM I think you missed something major: who are you playing with? I quit playing a few months ago because my answer eventually broke down to just a couple of people.
My ten-man strict guild broke up fairly badly - GL's main disqualified us for 10 strict, played politics to keep us from reforming without him, drove a couple of our best players to other servers, then threw a tantrum and /gdisbanded - and work picked up the pace a little, and I came to two major realizations: one, you can't be a top-notch player in this game without a minimum time investment; two, investing that time isn't fun if you're not doing it with friends. I have late hours and I was only interested in 10 strict, so I couldn't take any of the standing invitations to dps or heal for good raiding guilds, and I didn't have a regular team for arena.
It's probably just my personality, but I hated knowing that I could be a much stronger player if I could just get a few more emblems for a little bit better gear, or get a little higher arena rating. (Anyone who says it's about skill not gear is a liar. The number of random people from other servers who assumed that my 10 strict tier 8/9 gear meant I was a lazy noob who sucked was stupid. Wouldn't have mattered with a regular team. And pointing out the mistake at the end of a run got old fast.)
I found myself in a situation where I was running the daily task list to get that little bit more, and with the guild broken up, the daily task list just wasn't fun. You know... gotta run the daily random, and while I'm queued for that I'll farm, since I can't queue for BG or arena, and if a couple people from my arena team get on we'll try to get in some matches, and oh, have to try to PuG raid runs sometime this week, and... and... and it just wasn't fun without my crew.
When I had people to play with, all of those things were fun because we were working with each other towards a common goal. When it dropped to where it was just some sporadic time with a friend or two from the old guild and a couple of new players I was tutoring, and we were at different levels looking for different things... the game stopped being fun. And that's when it's time to leave.
TL,DR: The oft-neglected critical facet of fun in the game is your friends.
Mar 26th 2010 2:06AM Removed? I must have missed that patch note...
Jan 3rd 2010 10:56PM My personal issue: Winter Veil. I haven't been playing much since my 10-strict guild fell apart, so just a couple heroics a day most days, but I swear to God every single random I have run on my mage (totgc10ish gear) since Winter Veil started has been H Oc. For three weeks. Solid. Every day, every random. And of course, the last week, three people would drop instantly because the only reason it was H Oc is one person trying for the damn hat.
It's not like H Oc is hard or long or frustrating any more, either... it's been a while since I didn't make the timed achievement. The mage can single-handedly put out about 9k dps without even really trying on the bosses, so no kiting or dodging or running or whatever, and I can just about solo Eregos on a green these days... the whelps are just extra healjuice.
After watching three randoms (for my single daily random) in a row evaporate on the H Oc load screen the other day because the one who needed the hat was a dps and everyone else is psychologically terrorized by the instance, I finally quit doing randoms on the mage until Winter Veil was done. I think the annoyance of watching group after group evaporate during load screens is going to drive me either into serious PvP or back to Starcraft.
