May 5th 2010 1:27PM It's "Frontline" by Pillar. I'm guessing the video was named after the song.
May 3rd 2010 4:10PM I certainly agree with the part about some hunters preferring roles that aren't straight-up DPS. I much prefer these roles myself because they give me a compelling reason not to focus completely on DPS. Taking on a dynamic and reactive role is also much more fun than just settling into your rotation and avoiding the homicidal floor.
Apr 30th 2010 1:54PM I don't read the comics, so I didn't really know anything about Me'dan besides that he was Medivh's son... I just have to say, my first thought upon reading that part of the article was that he may actually a bigger Mary Sue than a certain red-haired archmage. Just... wow.
Anyway, I think another possibility is that Thrall just sorta gives up on making peace between the Horde and Alliance upon being captured by and rescued from the Alliance. He still wants peace to happen, he just realizes that it's not achievable in the foreseeable future. I mean, even Saurfang is becoming more belligerent towards the Alliance, and he's one of Thrall's strongest supporters. So, Thrall stops leading the Horde and seeks cooperation with the Alliance through other means, such as the Earthen Ring or Council of Tirisfal.
Apr 30th 2010 1:02PM This topic actually reminds me of Bioware's recent SWTOR video release. They mentioned that while a ton of people ganging up on one guy can be fun, it's not very "heroic". I have to agree with them there. A 10man feels like we're taking this elite, finely honed squad in to surgically attack the place, whereas a 25man feels like a bunch of goons zerging stuff down.
Apr 20th 2010 6:18PM Can we get some more hunter-friendly UIs please? I love the look of this one, but I can't use it (or any of the recent UIs you've shown) because it has too few action bars.
I'm not a clicker, in fact I keybind just about everything. But I still need to be able to see all my keybinds (please, please, PLEASE don't say "just memorize them" - I have about 40 abilities, items, macros, etc that I use regularly and it's nigh impossible to remember them all). Having 2 action bars is fine for a DPS warrior/paladin/rogue, but hunters have so many tools we need to be using that we need 3 or 4 bars (or at least, I do).
If not a full UI, then maybe a recommendation for a setup? HALP
Apr 18th 2010 2:11PM I'm still convinced this was more Activision's call than Blizzard's. I could be wrong, but I don't think they had any microtransaction services (except server/name change) until after the merger. That said, I have no real issue with it, but it's something worth noticing.
Apr 18th 2010 12:33PM Well, first off, if anyone in a PuG mentions gearscore in a positive way, I will probably try to boot them or leave the group. I don't need a number to tell me what raids I can do, and I've only seen bads use it.
I also refuse to grind out my horde factions to exalted... I just can't do it. Even if I get a nifty title and a new source of heirlooms, it's too much for me. Same for rep grinds in general that don't involve easy dailys or running dungeons.
I also won't PuG arenas. My friends might not be the best PvPers out there, but I'd rather have fun failing miserably with them than do moderately well with a stranger who might just ditch the team after the first week.
Apr 15th 2010 10:05AM I have a few (I'm a hunter, to put these in context)...
I once pulled Patchwerk for the tank. As he got about halfway to us we realized that I forgot to hit misdirection. Half the raid got hateful strike'd into oblivion.
Also with misdirect, in BC, our guild had 2 tanks, a warrior and a bear. When we did Prince, it was my job to MD the boss to the tank at the start. Thing is, the warrior was our MT, so our druid went kitty form for this fight. However, I still had him focused due to him being the trash tank. Imagine if you will -
Warrior - "Ok, pull."
Me - "K" [misdirect]
Druid - "WAIT WAIT WAIT"
Me - [aimed-arcane-autoshot combo]
Prince - "RAWR RAWR RAWR SMASH RAID"
Once I was kiting a warrior guildy in a duel, and was winning, but I failed to look where I was going. I fell off the ledge and to my death. To date, this is the only time I have actually *died* in a duel.
This last one isn't mine specifically, but my guild was doing ICC25 last night (my first time, yay!) and we were on gunship battle. Well, someone talked to Saurfang instead of the goblin while trying to get the jetpack, and about 5 raid members (including at least 1 tank) were not yet on the ship. Somehow, we still managed to win, but it was a big OMGWTF moment.
Dec 2nd 2009 1:30PM I see a lot of hate for SWTOR, and I thought I might point out that Bioware actually seems terrified of overhyping their game. Yes, they are "excited," but they know what hype did to WAR, especially since both Mythic and Bioware are part of EA. Most of the hype is coming from the potential playerbase. There is actually good reason to at least be interested in it, even if you're not a rabid Star Wars fan such as myself :P
Anyway, back on topic: Any NCSoft game. City of Heroes was the only one of their games that stood out to me, and it couldn't hold my attention for very long (no idea why, because so far I love CO). Between almost all their games, there is a similar, almost identical art style (the typical Asian MMO style), that I grow tired of quickly. There is always an unavoidable element of grind to their games, even in GW.
I want games that are unique, and interesting. That's why I like CO - for all it's flaws, it's different than anything I've played so far. Same goes for EVE, even though I don't play it, and even though WoW is hardly unique anymore, for all it's flaws it's a great game, and while many games copy it, none really come close to its level of polish or fun.
Holy crap that was long, sorry. -_-
Oct 23rd 2009 3:31PM Anyone know what the new set will be called? My bet is "Lichstalker".
