Jul 6th 2010 2:08PM Think about it this way: If this were a public meeting about something important, then the painfully shy person in the back of the room would most likely not say anything despite the fact that they might actually have the best idea in the entire room. However, if the Shy One had a chance to write down and submit those ideas anonymously then everybody would have a chance to hear about this great idea.
There might be a bunch of crappy ideas and childish rants from the village morons but at least this intelligent shy person would have some way to contribute. With the new Forum RealID fiasco, not only might this bright individual never contribute but they might also chose to simply avoid the Forums altogether. (And, no, I'm not trying to refer to myself here. I'm not that bright or shy. ;-) )
Jul 6th 2010 1:53PM What if I simply don't want some people in my real life to know I play WoW? The reasons are mostly unimportant but one thing is that I simply value my privacy. What if I just don't want people to know I'm a nerd that plays video games? (BTW, all of my RL friends know this anyway but it's just a random example.)
I just deleted my old posts from the Forums (luckily there were only a handful). I was on the fence about canceling my subscription until Cataclysm but this just made that decision easy. I might keep an eye out to see how RealID progresses but it's entirely possible that I might just keep on walking...
Jul 5th 2010 9:48AM I really think we need an update comment on the Dwarves regarding the image below. I'm surprised there hasn't been an article on it already anywhere:
May 31st 2009 1:08AM "...the story of the legendary blade showcase some of Lullabi's best work yet (with assists from Tony Washington). This owes largely to the spectacular coloring, done Painter-style by either Lullabi himself or an uncredited colorist."
FYI, the uncredited colorist is actually the very same Tony Washington you mentioned earlier. Tony is indeed a fantastic digital painter and has worked on everything from various animation projects to comics to trading card games, such as the WoW and Chaotic tcg's.
