Jul 1st 2011 2:04PM Video games, like guns and everything else, are only dangerous in the hands of dangerous people. As adults/parents, we should teach the younger generations the difference between right and wrong and that everything has a consequence. Correlating violent video games (which could be any game in general unless there's no penalty for losing life or anything) to violence is wrong. I have grown up around video games for 90% of my life and other than being a bit weird or 'off' has not caused me any issues. If people have such an aversion to violent video games, they can keep their kids from playing them entirely. Like the saying goes, "guns don't kill people, people kill people." Violent video games don't make people violent, but they can have an adverse effect on a child who doesn't know the difference between right and wrong.

Also, California is a bit off to begin with.

May 13th 2011 8:57PM I think WOW would lose about 1/2 of its players. This game is simple. No deep dark secrets, no strategy, etc. Sure, you have to know how to kite a boss, know which abilities to use when, how, why. But there's no reality to it. A hunter shoots an arrow at you, you dive behind a rock, it still hits you? Even in Arthurian legends arrows couldn't phase through stone.

If WOW loses the simplistic nature, the game will suffer. Sure the hard core gamers will stick around, the ones who enjoy a challenge; the rest will not.

This is the ultimate problem of computer MMORPGs, or console RPGs. In AD&D there is a realistic feel. You have to simplify the game so people will play it. If you make it more complex, you will lose your player base.
