Jun 4th 2009 3:19PM As a well geared 25 man off tank, pummellers are never a danger from the amount of damage they do. I've had as many as 5 on me with no real problem. If you tank them right next to XT-002 himself, your damage plus your melee DPS's miscellaneous AoE will bring them down so you'll have ~3 or 4 on you for the second half of the fight, plus your cleaves and shockwaves and thunderclaps can help out at least a little bit on the big guy.
Also, if you have 2 people doing adds on Ignis, you're doing the boss the 'traditional' (i.e. kite and blow up) way, and you ever have more than 3 constructs up in total, you've failed at life. Now that you can turn them into brittle golems at 10 stacks the kiting portion of this fight is trivial.
Jun 3rd 2009 9:31AM I don't think anyone has should worry about this change going in soon. This would be such a fundamental mechanics change that there is no way it would get tested enough as a point release. It would HAVE to come as an expansion release, in 4.0 or 5.0 or whatever. I got the impression that the quoted Ghostcrawler post was just him musing on some things they've floated around the design room to try and fix the rage situation. For every problem it helps fix, it brings up 3 or 4 others.
Ever been inside Ulduar? No critters. Anywhere. I shouldn't have to become an exterminator to be effective at the start of a fight.
