Apr 7th 2010 8:19AM Its odd that lots of people voted Paladin but no one has commented about them. Holy will likely see changes to account for all that stat changes (and because they are particular culprits of the infinite mana issue), prot to change things up and take away some of their (admittedly rather absurd) AoE threat, and ret because it is quite frankly a lot less interesting than many other specs to play. Plus Blizzard specifically said their mechanics are still under consideration, which certainly implies major changes.
Apr 6th 2010 8:02AM In some cases the difference is VERY minor as well. For example, RAWR shows my Ret Paladin gaining like 3 or 4 dps by eating strength food instead of a fish feast. Granted Paladins have a bit of an advantage since unlike most classes they benefit from the attack power AND the spell power of the feast.

Even if from a pure lore standpoint you might want the Blood Elves to leave the Horde, it won't happen. Blizzard would not only have to imbalance the factions' number of races to do it, they would take away what is almost certainly the Horde's most popular race (sad as it makes me to say so). Between that and the logistical consideration of what would happen to all the currently belf toons, I am confident in saying there is no way they will leave the Horde soon.

You're better off aiming for Bryntroll over Oxheart. It's much easier to get, and it's also actually better. The fast attack speed is kind of a bummer, but it's still the best 264 weapon other than Shadow's Edge for Ret. Moreover, the Exo glyph is pretty lackluster simply because you don't use Exo that much; in fact the SoV glyph is generally recommended for anyone under about 23 expertise for the times when you are using SoC/SoR. So basically, get the cool looking bone-axe and don't worry about that silly mace.
Mar 26th 2010 2:14PM Your personal taste is all well and good, I guess. However, the fact remains that crit averages out pretty well over the course of a five minute fight like Festergut, and it is a sustained dps increase to gem Inscribed in a yellow socket that will net you a 4 strength or more bonus. 10 Crit > 6 Strength.
Mar 26th 2010 2:11PM Sorry man, but you have that rotation off by quite a bit. First of all, Judgement should be first, always, in ICC gear levels. Hammer of Wrath doesn't scale as well as many other attacks do, and is in fact below Judgement, CS, and DS in portion of your DPS (even for the last 20% of the boss' HP). With the 264 libram, putting CS before DS probably makes sense while you're stacking up the strength, but DS appears to be slightly better afterwards. Oh, and just because the GCD would slow down the DS is no reason to not hit the Consecration. It is a DPS loss to not hit a DPS button, with the possible exception of waiting like .1 seconds to hit a Judgement instead of an Exo or Holy Wrath. You should really do some reading up.
TLDR: this guy doesn't know what he's talking about.
Mar 26th 2010 2:04PM The beautiful thing about that trinket is that it's BiS by a mile even if all the hit is totally wasted. You basically get a free ~80 hit area that you can gear around if you have that trinket. Which means that not only is it BiS because it's so awesome, its also really convenient for gearing up around (oh, and it scales incredibly well with your gear).
Mar 26th 2010 1:59PM There really shouldn't be any waiting involved. Since Exo is last on your priority list and has a 15 sec CD, you should easily proc AoW before it comes up again, especially with t10 2p.
Mar 26th 2010 1:53PM You shouldn't be changing your rotation at all on Saurfang as a ret paladin, except when wings are up. Prot paladins can pull and hold a beast if they aren't careful, but if your ranged aren't bad a ret shouldn't have issues. You have to be careful when wings are up because half of your damage will ignore the AoE damage reduction and that can get you into a bit of trouble. Save wings for right after the beasts get pulled away and you're good to go.
Everyone else seems to be saying that DS will pull, but I use it every single time we do that fight on CD and I haven't had issues since we were first learning it. Maybe my guild's ranged are just that cool. I'm pretty sure that DS counts as AoE, not cleave, so it should get the damage reduction as well.
Mar 24th 2010 1:33PM From the sound of things they are likely to redo all the racials in Cataclysm. I wouldn't be surprised to see Find Treasure go away.
