Mar 21st 2012 4:07PM Yes, well, it was uphill both ways in the snow in those days! Some of those vanilla people suffered in ways we can't even imagine today, so maybe a little compensation is in order. (Plus, some people have paid $1000+ for their WoW-playing by now and fair or not, money talks.)
I won't be getting into the beta too early either, I'm a Wrath baby, and I didn't get the annual pass until Jan I think. I did it largely on the wager that the months I would have lapsed would add up to less than the cost of Diablo 3, so poking around in the beta wasn't really the main motivation.

Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
He'll do you up a treat, mate.
I'm warning you!
He's got huge, sharp... er... He can leap about. Look at the bones!
Mar 7th 2012 7:12PM Hellfire Penninsula indeed! Why can't they just sell 1000JP single-use BoA items that grant one level of experience to a character between 60 and 70? (Or even 80, but they're probably not ready to go there yet.)
Feb 16th 2012 1:22PM "Bounce: It's not enough that this had to be one of the best quests in Cataclysm -- it's also an easy achievement. Detailed explanations of how to do this are probably superfluous."
Please go ahead and explain it. I've leveled several toons through that area and have never managed to get this without bouncing out. I must be doing it wrong.
Dec 25th 2011 6:45PM Wait! North America needs more time!
Dec 18th 2011 4:50PM "What's better than having a dragon on a string as a pet? A dragon on a string that periodically gets struck by lightning."
Nov 29th 2011 4:29PM Oh yeah! Time to make bank on the auction house with some sweet new crafting items!
Oh wait... I, too, am an engineer.
Nov 6th 2011 8:36AM No, I prefer not to have the group of friends I play WoW with suddenly split along arbitrary racial lines.
Oct 27th 2011 2:11PM Grovin, I admit naked bribery is not an option we have considered, and I definitely think we should. That's a very useful suggestion. Thanks.
Shrike, I share many of your sentiments. On my server, the situation is exacerbated by level 25 guilds that spam ginvites to any unguilded player, will take absolutely anybody, and the "officers" openly berate their "members" for being stupid enough to join, and don't even pretend they're not selling their guild perks in exchange for the cash from the "% looted goes to guild bank" gold perk. ("You're our gold earning b***h. Now go loot more.") People who want to level fast see the "level 25," accept the spam invite and sooner or later just turn off guild chat because it makes trade look civilized. It's not a "guild" in any meaningful way, it's basically a business transaction between hostile parties.
Oct 27th 2011 1:06PM Q for the Q:
What's the fastest way for two people, already 85, to level a new guild?
The obvious answer is "get more people" but all you get for advertising a level 1 guild these days is verbal abuse. We want to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the here-today-gone-tomorrow "we're new but we'll do something someday!" level 1 guilds by actually doing something *first*. Just seems like options are limited.
In my case, I'm already Loremaster of Cataclysm, so I can't quest. I've tried doing 25 dailies and at that rate it will take nearly a month just do get to level 2. The dungeon rewards require at least three "level appropriate" people.
The main individual guild XP contribution seems to be leveling 80-85, but leveling alts 1-85 is a huge time sink and the lower levels really hurt the ROI.
Are there any other alternatives I'm missing, or is the door essentially closed on starting new guilds from scratch at this point?
Thanks for any tips!
