Jun 30th 2010 12:19PM I agree that it would be nice to be free, but this brings up another problem: the micro-transactions. Obviously Blizz won't sell gold or items, but in the long run, not many people are going to buy vanity pets and vanity gear... at least not over $15 worth every month per player. This means they will have to start selling other things, and the first (and only) thing that comes to mind is experience bonuses: $10 for %100 experience bonus for 5 days... or something like that. Players will still have to work, and it is almost the same as RaF (pay some more money for an exp bonus). But to be honest, Blizzard is making a ton of money atm with name changes, realm transfers, the new mobile armory, vanity pets, licensing deals, not to mention the $15 a month every single player pays. I can't see them being successful in free to play because they just make too much money now.
May 3rd 2010 3:33PM but worst case scenario, give petition a GM. I was in ICC the other week and a piece of gear dropped that I needed, as did another member. He whispered me and told me he would buy it for 5000g. I said yes, as I didn't really need it that much, but instead of him giving me the gold, he told the ML that he had paid me, took the gear, and left the raid. I petitioned a GM right after (and had SNs ready), but about a week later, that piece of loot showed up in my mailbox.
Apr 18th 2010 7:50PM Its a great business idea, and I am fine with the fact that they are selling mounts and pets... but to make such an AWESOME looking mount into something SO common, is a bit of a shame.
Apr 3rd 2010 5:45PM I really really really really don't want this to turn into a gearscore argument, but here's my pov on the subject:
If you have a high gearscore, it shows that
1) You have a decent amount of stamina and you wont get 1 shotted if something goes wrong
2) You have gotten the gear by successfully downing bosses, thus know the fight
3) You show that you have shown the effort to get gear
4) (And this is where people fight most) You show that you can put out an adequate amount of damage. On that note, I know there are people that don't know how to play their class. There's a mage in the guild we join with for 25m ICC; he's got a 5.8k gearscore yet just found out about a month ago that AB stacks to 4x. This said, the top 3 facts still hold true: he has a lot of stamina, knows the fights, and is eager to raid.
I know people will comment on this, so I will leave it here: GearScore is a useful tool to use when evaluating a player, but not the only tool.
Feb 23rd 2010 1:37PM haha, thats what I was thinking. Also, I LOVE your work, and the story is great! That said, I do miss the color :(. I know it takes a while, but imo, it bumps ur your amazing art and talent ever so much.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Feb 5th 2010 9:07PM there are in fact two people to blame here: blizz for not testing this, and ensidia for knowing the fight was exploited.
The blizz point is obvious, but most people are on the fence on that fact that if Ensidia knew if they had bugged the raid. As Moore has pointed out, most high-level raiding guild, Ensidia being on top of that list, ALWAYS make videos, and there is no chance in the world that they did not film their attempt. **takes back the tin hat** But why isn't it up online? There is very good reason to speculate that they knew the encounter was being bugged, and even though they didn't know what was happening, they continued to do whatever they were doing to exploit it.
In the end, it was fair that blizz took away the kill and the gear, but it was NOT fair to place a 3 day ban (though those guys could probably use some sunlight) on a mistake that was blizz's fault.
Jan 28th 2010 11:07AM IMO, it wont be the gear with the incentives, but the talent trees. If holy pallys had a talent that converted armor into +int, then that would be a HUGE incentive for them.
As it is, I don't really like how many current stats are going to be replaced on gear (SP, MP5, ATP, etc) so unless they come up with some revolutionary system (not out of the question), I think the change has to be made to the player, not the gear.

Jan 23rd 2010 11:06PM How difficult is it for you to refrain from criticizing the writer?
Good info, but you could have done w/o the second part...
