Jan 19th 2010 1:17PM """Can you even see your actual base character under all the armor? And except for a few minutes right after I get new gear I hardly look at my toon really."""
Well if that's the case, then they should at least update the head, hands, and feet (and maybe smooth out some animations). Humans have smushed in faces, pretty much every hand model looks like a square brick with lines on it, and don't even get me started on big blocky troll feet. Just make it so when I take a screen shot it doesn't look like character models from 1998 standing in front of a beautiful scenery.
Jan 19th 2010 1:12PM that reeks of bobby kotick. i forget if it was CoD4 or 5, but he held a "fan contest" to create maps for the game, and they actually used some of the maps in their game...and took all the credit for the design. I hope folks start to see the type of people we are dealing with here; GC and his crew may be pro-creativity and pro-wow, but there are other people involved who would like to stifle *all* creativity if it meant making $101million a month instead of $100million.
Jan 19th 2010 1:02PM for reference:
""Kotick is a controversial figure in the press and gaming community. This is in part due to advocating a business strategy focused on developing intellectual property which can be exploited over a long period, occasionally to the exclusion of creating new, risky or niche titles.""
Jan 17th 2010 12:18PM i don't think i ever opened my key ring.

I will tell you right now, it's probably not your fault. You understand the mechanics of Occulus, you just don't have confidence in yourself. There's nothing "puzzling" about it. It's actually pretty straightforward once you learn the 3 buttons. You sound like you've been around a while and understand game mechanics, and the difficulty with Occ. is that the whole group needs to get it. If only 3 people know the drakes, then that's not enough. This isn't a boss where 2 bad people can squeek by doing nothing, it takes all 5 people working together to take the boss down (last I checked anyway).
So don't put the full burden on your shoulders, it's a 5 person boss and I think you will surprise yourself when you get a group for OC one day and you suddenly everything "clicks" and you realize how easy it is.
Jan 5th 2010 1:01PM shitty reply system...no one reads the last page!

the reason the run was so perfect and fun is because occulus has a knack for clearing out the "bad players". I'm not talking about badly geared players (do those even exist anymore?)...I'm talking about players who wipe the group and yell at everyone else. The type of people who think learning a new mechanic just to be good at it is pointless because "Itz too hard and dere is no phat lootazzz"
I always liked occulus for separating the men from the boys, but now it's just another big bag of shiny loot that everyone can have.
